Think there always still a chance this could happen while he's still at Villareal so I'm pretty chilled. I'm sure we have a set figure in mind for this guy and Levy's not going to have his pants pulled down. We've not really been linked solidly to any other CB since, so I would think its just a case of us stepping back and letting the other party's have a think about things properly.

A question regarding the 30%. Is that the majority share of this player?

Because, in a sale, wouldn't the majority owner ultimately make the decision?

If Villarreal aren't the majority owner, then who is? Who owns the remaining 70% of him and how is it split?

It may be that the final decision is not in the hands of Villarreal, despite their assertions that he'll stay.
Villarreal own 35%, river 35% and his agent 30%. As far as I can tell, Villarreal are the only party who can accept a fee and the other two get the percentage of the fee, that they are entitled too. Is this right @Ossie85

I was feeling sad, so I wrote a poem and would like to share it with you all.

I've been waiting this saga out in the Bellagio eating nothing but beef carpaccio and pistachio, I've even grown a Mustachio and still no Mussachio :shy:

Again I asked with Schneiderlin, anyone know when his contract is up? As surely if it's coming to an end soon, there must be a clause in the contract with all parties, that Villareal must sell in order for them all to get some money instead of letting him go for free.
Otherwise Villareal get 100% of the player and can let him go for nothing with the other parties getting nothing.

MM is our 3rd option after Lovren and Hector Moreno. How far down the barrel do you want to go?

If we don't get MM now, Moreno might be fit again come January

Whilst none of us can know for sure, I don't believe Musacchio was Poch's 3rd choice CB.

From what I've seen of MM, and I've made a point of watching him on the telly (Sky La Liga) ever since Ramos tried to sign him as an 18-year-old, I think he's a better player than either Lovren or Moreno. Also as a right-footed CB, he's a natural partner for Jan.

If I'm right about the agent being Pini Zahavi, then - realistically - "tapping up" rules don't apply, and it's highly likely that Poch has been speaking with MM for several weeks and selling him on the Spurs project. There's also the ITK that medical records have been checked and personal terms agreed.

MM is the player I most want us to sign this window, as signing a potentially world class CB should be our number one priority.

Whilst Euros 20 milion is a lot for a CB, idiotic fees have been paid for CBs this window - eg David Luiz, who is a shockingly poor defender, the Mangala fee, and Barca paying Euros 20 million for Jeremy Mathieu.

Musacchio is 23, Mathieu is 30. And Musacchio is a much better defender than Mathieu. So if Levy needs to chuck a little more cash around to get this deal done, I'm all in favour.

One way around this is to pay 10m for a Villereal groundsman and 6m for MM?

Looks like we done that sort of thing for Vorm?

Just a thought on this third party crap, this player has a contract with Villareal but when he reaches the end of that contract he is a free agent, doesn't that work with the third party too? surely they can't own him in perpetuity, if he doesn't sign a new contract surely he can become free from them too but we never hear about this side of it. If it doesn't work like this then I can't see how it can be accepted in any way shape or form, does anyone know how long Mussachio has left on his third party contract?
