Dier played 30 minutes as a CB and people are proclaiming him as the answer to our CB issues? Too risky IMO. That said, if Musacchio isn't do-able, then panic buying is no good either.

I don't have any doubts we need a new CB though. Kaboul struggled against Carlton Cole. He will face far tougher challenges this season and I am not just thinking of games against the top 4. Every team has better strikers than Carlton Cole. Dawson is beginning to lose physical battles he used to win so I wouldn't count on him. Chiriches has been injury prone since he joined us so hard to judge him but also, by that token, a risk to rely on him.

If we can't get Musacchio this summer, then we're unlikely to get him at any point because the third party issues are hardly going to go away. Therefore, I hope we have a plan b and have set the Musacchio deal a deadline which would give us time to move on to the next.

Apparently Bayern have bid for Benatia. If so then United are definitely a threat in this with their awful defence

Yeah we have to do this quickly now. If Bayern get Benatia there are suddenly Chelsea, United and Roma looking for a CB.

I couldn't agree more!
Our defense are fragile and we still find it hard to deal with aerial threats and set pieces.
I think we should consider Ron Vlaar as one of the names for plan B.

Another howler again today. Big game player but poor in loads of the other games.
Poor concentratration, but still seems to have his speed...maybe we should give him some more games before we write him off. Was opening game of the season after all.

Thought kabs played well yesterday, only did a couple of really dodgy things imo.

Still need MM in though for sure.
Really? Misread the game a lot and takes too long. Also very rash. I hate to say it but I think he's done. New, quality cb is required

Issue is, he makes 2-3 mistakes a game and, last season, they all seemed to cost us, I worry about that this season As well.

Nah, watched him closely. No howlerage going on, just a couple of lapses.

Like I said, still need MM for sure. Would keep kabs in the pack though.

Mate can't say I agree about Kaboul. He was outmuscled by Cole, out paced by him, misread things and generally looks nowhere the commanding presence he was two seasons ago. Vaz Te lost him easily for a headed chance to.

A real shame but I'll very surprised if he gets back to that level now.

He didn't get punished. It doesn't mean he wasn't getting caught out left right and centre.
Not what I saw and spam weren't peppering our goal, so....

First game of the season, not gonna condemn anyone as that was a tricky game.

Ok, Lennon did get it from me, but come on, that one has just got to end now, my good lord.

Would you flog him though, pinks?
