Just before anyone goes off the deep end on Val's post, I'm fairly certain he's posted similar things in each of the last few deadline day threads.

I'd rather take 10 for Lennon than 15 for Townsend. Don't let his mistake yesterday cloud your judgement. He still has potential and plenty of time to improve.

The Sky bloke at the ground just said that the club has told him that Townsend is going nowhere.
I'm sure that'll please plenty of you...
I just don't get this. Different story if he doesn't want to go of course but I hope this is just posturing to ensure we get the maximum for him.

Sandro and Lennon could go there after all, even with H not liking him. Funny old game....especially as they are skint!
Not going to divulge anything too early today as i prefer coming on in about 12 hours time when the press and clubs not sniffing about as a few deals could still be done....
Poch wants a smaller squad so expect more outs.
J-rod and Ms is very fanciful unless DL has had a big change of mind.
I expect at least 1 forward to come in.
Don't get your hopes up people as we have all seen this movie before and know how it ends....

Optimistic I know, but if, IF, they spunk masses on AT, then a higher price for Morgan leaves everyone looking like they got the best deal possible.
You'd hope a reported bid of 15 million for Townsend may change his mind. We can all dream.

So Danny Welbeck then basically.
I'll be happy if we get him if its a permanent or a loan with option to buy.
Welbeck and MS in would be very good IMO so I hope Levy has had a serious change of heart.
Bit concerned about wanting a smaller squad though if we want to take Europa seriously.

The overdraft post is probably (one Of) the greatest business idea I've ever seen.
We may not be able to compete all window with the bigger clubs who have oil barons and CL, But we have a specific war chest for deadline day so that for at least one day of the window we can compete and potentially beat out bigger clubs who can't move the funds as quickly as we can.
Deadline Day will always be Levy's day and regardless of whether we as fans like it or not, This technique works for us. Let's hope its not a mad deadline day and we get BS/MS and Welbeck/LWF before the window shuts. Anymore than that would be pure greed

Thanks JJ, looking forward to the afternoon update! Really hope he pulls it out of the bag this year, it's long overdue.
I really think we should entertain the MS/AT swap deal, he'd be vital for us but if he went to the goons it could well be game over for our already extremely faint hopes of 4th.
Agree pessimism is the best stance for today based on recent history...
