ENIC might have been good for us in the beginning and clearly improved us but im now thinking they lack ambition and have no desire to take us any higher.too many windows money is going in rather than coming out.

Ok just like Sports Day, our event might have finished but it's only polite to stick around and cheer on the other competitors :)

I'll happily be proven wrong, but Soldado won't improve this year or next.
Besides which, I suspect he isn't a Poch choice so will get just the Europa and Cup games.

Relegated - No
Qualify for Europe again - No

I trust Pochettino to do the best he can, but when Levy keeps the coffers closed in favour of balancing the books, then the best isn't going to be enough.
Our motto is "To Dare Is To Do"
Isn't it time the chairman put those words into actions???

WINNER! ⭐️

Another thing I want to comment on is the club's inability to get deals done, for me its incompetent.

Schneiderlin was an identified target very early, why on earth did the club not make him one our priority and first signings this summer. Losing Sandro and Holtby in the middle makes me wonder what we are really left with. By the time we went in for him Southampton were in a position where they couldn't sell him.

OK I know they have the money etc. but the speed at which Man City and Chelsea do deals is remarkable. Is it because they have the agents ear? Or because they don't really negotiate too hard. Whatever they do they get deals done.

I don't believe there are any illusions at White Hart Lane. We don't pay excessive fees or wages and we most certainly don't sell on the cheap. Amazing to see the way Arsenal fans moan still even though they are in a top new stadium and have spent a fair amount of money in the last 12 months.

Man City and Chelsea do deals so fast because they are quite happy to pay whatever the selling club wants.

Reactive rather than proactive. That how we roll and have done for some time.

Trust me, scratching around for signings in Jan will be even more fruitless than this window.

The failure to bring in even one single attacking player will cost is big time. We have no game changers to bring on from the bench and a massive over reliance on Ade and Eriksen.

I'm sure once one or both of them inevitably get injured the usual phrases bad luck and hindsight will be used, when in fact it will just be rank bad planning.

I heartily agree with this.

Joe Lewis is where the problem lies. How much money has he actually invested since he's been here? Can't be an awful lot.

To invest money is to expect a profit. Investment is every outlay on every player wage, training facility fixture or manager sacking package. That we make more than we spend (barely) is not through lack of investment, it's through good business management.

No, he hasn't thrown a load of his personal wealth at it, with no regard of making any money back like Abramovich, but then that's why he heads up an investment firm. Abramovich didn't work for his money and spends it like a playboy - sure it's fun for his entourage, but it's not investing.

ITK's got us all excited yesterday over nothing. What is it we heard? 2 in besides BS? Hahahah. The line before all this was dont expect much, Poch wants a smaller squad. Should've stuck with that all along.(y)

What on Earth has happened to Lennon's protracted move?!

If it comes to pass that we turned down decent bids then I really won't be amused...

Getting rid of Holtby and Sigurdsson whilst keeping Lennon and Townsend considering the system Poch prefers seems very strange.

And we've also not got a striker that suits his system whilst not bringing in his main target.

All a bit concerning really.

True but if you want to trim the squad and no offers come in for those players, what can you do?

Must admit I'm also disappointed to lose those 2 and Sandro.

They're building us a fucking stadium and built us one of the best training grounds in the world. Is that not ambition?

Exactly. It seems like the exact opposite of what I'd expect. Holtby and Siggy always had the talent, they just never really appeared to have anyone that could provide them effective coaching to bring it out of them. I haven't felt that Lennon has had the talent to make it for over 2 years now (always hoping he'd somehow "get it") and Townsend is about as brainless of a footballer as you will find. It's incredibly frustrating.

I said weeks ago when the Remy deal to Liverpool fell through that we should swoop in and get him. We have a good relationship with QPR and his stock was at its lowest at the time. He would've given us pace, goal scoring, and versatility. Why was that deal not done, I wonder? JJ alluded to the fact that there was some contact over him, so what happened there?

Was just thinking the same.

I really am starting to think all these decisions are beyond footballing ones.

Very disillusioned at the moment.

I'm a fan of Levy but this time I'm very unhappy. We are really, really weak up front.

Are we? Really?

1. We've got Adebayor, who is frustrating, but a very good striker. He will get us goals and can play on his own up front.
2. Soldado. Massive signing last year, who needs a chance in this league. We spent over £20m on him and most of us were over the moon when we signed him last year. To write him off after one poor season is madness - plenty of strikers have had a difficult start in the prem and gone on to do fantastic things (Drogba was a joke for his first year, Van Persie took a while to get going, Henry wasn't a first season wonder).
3. Kane. We have to give our youth a chance and this kid might have something. He's started well and has a bit of craft about him that's rare in an English forward. Perfect third striker material.

We are not weak up front. Our options are good and, with a bit of luck, could be fantastic. We are much better off than the days of Bent, Campbell and Pav (and they played in a 4-4-2!)

No need to whack on credit card . Got enough in coffers and sold ambition to players now not in future in order to sign new contacts.
You are assuming that 6th is guaranteed wise up and look at what other clubs are doing they are all strengthening their 11.

The question you should ask yourself even with the stadium and training facility should tottenham hotspur be bottom on the net spend in the last 5 years transfer activities.

We are tottenham sell tottenham sell the history the manager the project and what do we get ? A bigger bank balance with less creativity than we started the window. It's a good job it was only the defence we had an issue with last year as we scored so many goals last year eh

History means very little. Players don't give a toss that we won the double in 1961. I think it's you that needs to wise up. They want to play in the CL, they want to challenge for league titles and they want big wages - we haven't won the league in over 50 years and we can't compete with the 5 significantly richer teams in the premier league on wages. We might however be able to compete if we had the revenue from a 50,000+ stadium every fortnight.

We probably do have a lot in the coffers (and I think you're speculating there by the way) but a stadium is a massive investment for the club and will require significant savings to make it happen. We are effectively saving for a house, so we're not going to go and splurge on a new BMW in the meantime.

Welbeck would've been ok but we can't compete with Arsenal in terms of Euro footy or wages....

Not fussed by either Sig or Holtby going as both were squad players and not good enough - Lamela is back in the frame and the new guy replaces Sandro (if he goes). We've got 3 new defenders and only flogged one (thus far) and we've kept hold of Verts and Hugo....

£27m for MS was way too much so not surprised he hasn't come....

Who else did people seriously think was realistic that they wanted?

JRod is injured. Ben Arfa? I mean seriously that's just needy bollocks...

The optimistic side of me thinks as long as Schneiderlin stays at Soton it'll be interesting to see if we can get him and J-Rod in January. I think January is an under-utilised market, as despite having a bit of premium, clubs that buy well in January tend to have a good end to the season. Hull getting to the cup final and Newcastle almost making top four excellent examples.

However can't help but feel incredibly short-changed by levy. We get screwed for money at every opportunity, ticket increases, shirt increases, membership increases, then the stubhub debacle. And yet he can't appreciate inflation on transfer fees for good players!

I appreciate we have the stadium to build but we've had longer to fund this than most, and I'm still waiting for a terrible naming rights deal coming up as they offered a few quid more.

More money in the PL than ever and we fail to sign a player over £10m (even if Davies was it was a swap). That's mid table stuff. Hull and Southampton have spent more than that on a single player this summer.

Levy always tries to achieve unrealistic goals with the bare minimum, then sacks the guy who can't achieve them. Really hope Poch is given next season even if we come 7th, wouldn't count on it though!
