Are we? Really?

1. We've got Adebayor, who is frustrating, but a very good striker. He will get us goals and can play on his own up front.
2. Soldado. Massive signing last year, who needs a chance in this league. We spent over £20m on him and most of us were over the moon when we signed him last year. To write him off after one poor season is madness - plenty of strikers have had a difficult start in the prem and gone on to do fantastic things (Drogba was a joke for his first year, Van Persie took a while to get going, Henry wasn't a first season wonder).
3. Kane. We have to give our youth a chance and this kid might have something. He's started well and has a bit of craft about him that's rare in an English forward. Perfect third striker material.

We are not weak up front. Our options are good and, with a bit of luck, could be fantastic. We are much better off than the days of Bent, Campbell and Pav (and they played in a 4-4-2!)
Excellent perspective. (y)

But are you going on pre season games ? He has had 3 loans yet made no impact in any and was sent back! Does that not make you wonder !??

I'm going on preseason games? Where did I say anything that referred to those?

That's just it, I don't think people should automatically assume that since a player doesn't always cut it in the lower leagues they automatically won't make it in the Prem. The Prem is far more technical rather than physical, so it isn't a straight line or even exponential rise in quality from the lower leagues to the Prem. Nonetheless, I was under the impression his last loan at Swindon was relatively good?

I'm not saying he's set to provide immediate impact in the league, but I think he can do a job in the cups as I mentioned.

What on Earth has happened to Lennon's protracted move?!

If it comes to pass that we turned down decent bids then I really won't be amused...

Well, it is largely believed that he is Levy's favourite player...

The most ridiculous thing about this moaning is that if we'd equalised on Saturday with Ade or Chadli's chances, and held the game to a 1-1, hell, even got beaten 3-1 in the end, there wouldn't be half as much dramatics here.

Did you all watch the game?

Was it not clear that there's a different mentality. We were physically outplayed by a Liverpool team who are playing to a system remarkably similar to ours. They had some underwhelming players in their side and a few players who are truly impressive.

We are very similar. What we don't have is the experience in our players of playing under their manager. That team that lost to Liverpool yesterday was a world away from the one that lost last year.

Anyone that thinks we're in for more of the same this year is mistaken. I saw a Spurs team that were making mistakes, but I didn't see a lack of commitment. We'll be fine this year. I saw enough against QPR to suggest we'll be blowing teams away in a few months and going toe to toe against the teams around us in a much more equal fashion.

We've a good squad. It would be nice to strengthen, but we're not in bad shape in anyway whatsoever.
I agree. I am glad I am not alone on this.

I'll happily be proven wrong, but Soldado won't improve this year or next.
Besides which, I suspect he isn't a Poch choice so will get just the Europa and Cup games.

Relegated - No
Qualify for Europe again - No

I trust Pochettino to do the best he can, but when Levy keeps the coffers closed in favour of balancing the books, then the best isn't going to be enough.
Our motto is "To Dare Is To Do"
Isn't it time the chairman put those words into actions???

Isn't the Club making money on transfers this window?

Other clubs invest - Spurs take the cash. Perhaps Lewis was at the last game with a sizeable suitcase to take some if it with him back to the Bahamas?

No, the key to this window was creating a belief in those players that they were staying for the long term. Whether or not we have done that is very debatable.

don't think we can convince anyone in a transfer window. it has to be the club unity, and our performances which will convince them we will achieve the aim of champions league.

think its a decent window for us. only time will tell i guess.

I can't wait for another transitional season next year when we bring in loads of bargains next summer with the lloris/verts money in the hope they find their next bale/modric

Maybe this is where the youngsters come in... Poch has worked with small squads supplemented by talented, hungry youth players. We could see Kane at No.10, Mason, Ceballos etc.

We also heard earlier in the summer that Poch was most concerned with the defence, and was going to sort that out first and that's what it seems has happened. I also think we have been a bit wary of overhauling the squad again and have tried to strike a balance between signings and stability. This is going to be a season of transition, again, and that will annoy some but is what happens with a new manager 90% of the time and not everything squad-wise will be built in one window.
Nice post.

According to sources elsewhere Lennon turned the moves down himself.

[Edit] - mind you I'm still waiting for the Tevez and Isco loan moves to come off. After all peeps were so convinced. *Where's the winky smiley when you need it?

I'm off, some of the shit spouted in here is unbelievable. ITK states that Poch is part of a team that decides who goes, let's trust him seems as he is the one who picks the team.

All this crap about Levy killing the club is just laughable. We will be there or there abouts come the end of the season and do it playing some nice football IMHO.

Trouble is we lost yesterday, didn't buy a worldie and it's two weeks without a game, this place will be unbearable.

@Drexl - saying you want the owner(s) of the club to "get Ebola" is just fucking pathetic.

At the end of the day, this is football- a game.

What you said is just disgusting.

Can't help think the mood would be different if we had signed all of davies, dier, BS, yedlin, Fazio and Vorm tonight. Fair enough there was no superstar striker etc but to be honest if a crooked Falcao and Danny Welbeck were the best out there then we can hardly complain.
