I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm glad we didn't waste money on Welbeck and Rodriguez. There's much better targets available for the kind of money their clubs wanted, I'm sure. The only thing I'm worried about is that Pooch is adamant on Rodriguez and we will spunk a whole load of January inflated cash on him in a few months.

I just have a bit of faith in the management; you don't, that's fine.
We bought 5 attackers last summer: Soldado, Paulinho, Eriksen, Lamela and Chadli - reckon we probably needed some better defensive options. Think we have them now. Think we should let these 5 have a crack at the PL too.
I trust Poch's judgment. It's more believable that Poch said "I want J-Rod and MS if you can please Daniel", otherwise (as both Trix and JJ said) he's happy with what he's got to work with. And that's all I care about rather than children throwing toys out of the pram - especially fully grown adult children.

Problem is the board expect us to be in or around the top 4. Now with Europe and us trimming the squad and indeed the quality we can put out as a "Second team" has been cut down im worried about us running out of steam. Their was a 5year plan 15 years ago longer even? and the managers have had their time ended early by Levy due to bad results ect. Now im all for cutting the squad if needed and treading water but the board must realise now that we are not a top 4 Side we may struggle to make top 6 and aslong as they can handle this then Ok because thats where we stand imo top 7 and hope for a domestic cup run but this will obviously lead to a mass exodus of the quality we do have. Do you think Levy will be quite as patient when the fans kick off somehow and with his history I cant see it and Poch will be sacked and the same story will start again......be all and end all he and the board cannot have its cake and eat it.

Frustrating that we didn't strengthen.
Ms would of been fantastic IMO, and another goal threat up top in some capacity was definitely preferable IMO.
That being said, we have identified and strengthened some of the weak areas in the squad and;
Most importantly we've retained our best players, namely Lloris and Vertonghen.
So all in all its positive but could of been sexier ( bit like the wife)

not overly dissapointed but do feel we lack something different in attack, and although not always the best players we seem to have transfered a lot of the passion and heart out of the team in one window. Hope those that are left will appreciate the shirt.

I'm more interested in what he's like after his injuries. We already have one unrecognizable post injury CB, I'm hoping we don't have another seeing as Fazio is the only real signing that looks to be improving the first 11.
I feel there is a lot of straw clutching going in this thread as well as some overdramatic nonsense.
Whatever may you spin in though, it's been a poor window.

I'm happy to buy into the idea of a new manager building a squad of players who understand his ideas and suit his way of playing, and that potentially taking a few windows - I certainly don't advocate signing players for the sake of it - but it worries me we continue to amass bang average 'moneyball' signings, shipping five out, bringing five in of roughly equivalent quality each time.
Looking through our squad, there's some pretty mediocre players there - Vertonghen aside, I don't really rate one of our group of defenders - perhaps Fazio will come in and change my mind - and central midfield is an area desperately short on quality. Is Davies really a quality attacking left-back suited to Poch's system? If Walker's got injury problems, do we really want to see Dier out of position there being outpaced for half the season?
We've got a lot of players, and I can't say I'd really miss any of them, Lloris aside.
Let's hope Poch can do what he did at Southampton and get significant improvement out of a group of decent players, and get them playing as a team. I hope he's not been made promises by Levy and then delivered something totally different. COYS.

wait i just checked - we've actually bought 5 players this window. And kept our best players. And we replaced Sherwood with Poch.
