I'm actually going to this game! Very rarely make it for matches so well up for it!
Does anybody know if i would be able to park in Stamford Hill or something and get the bus the rest of the way?

Jesus, we aren't Chelsea/City TSH... I don't notice a wealth of attacking talent in our squad.

Riddle me this, if we drop Eriksen and Lamela, who the fuck are we putting in for them, Lennon and Townsend?

They're are two most gifted attacking talents, I would be beyond livid if we dropped them.

There are youth players who can be tried. There are options such as moving Dembele or Mason forward ir dropping Kane back.

My point is that for all their talent neither Eriksen or Lamela have done enough and if they don't deliver more consistently then they shouldn't expect to be automatic starters.

Ade should dropped, he's a huge problem for our play at the moment.
Both lamela and Eriksen have created for him, but he's done fuck all for our play.

Kinds like how 4-2-3-1 fucked over avb and seems like it's doing the same thing to poch
Really?
We're a point up and plus 6 goals on last year's corresponding fixtures.
Not bad after 6 games;)

It's the classic backward english mentality. Why try and play any 4231 dynamic bollocks. When you can just play a pwoppa 442 with top english lads on the wing slinging balls into the box! Lovely jubbly!
Can I ask what makes 4-2-3-1 dynamic? is it attacking fullbacks? Is it having an uber lone forward who can hold the ball up and work it effectively and then get in the box himself. does it need some of the three behind to run off of the lone forward. Do we have these?

For me a backwards mentality is thinking the latest hipster formation is going to work no matter the personnel, no matter the opposition.

You really don't understand some basic concepts do you?

4-4-2 doesn't always mean more attacking, sometimes it means the polar opposite. I guarantee you if we let Southampton have a man advantage in the middle of the park we'd be in trouble. They're strong enough in that area let alone with a man advantage in there.

City switched from a 4-4-2 tonight and its won them the game.
I think people need to remember at home we are playing on a small playing area. WHL is small. 442 won't mean we are out numbered anywhere in the park, and we don't need to be so respectful to other teams. Playonging 442 can work, or a variation of it. Adebayor drops so deep during games anyway that it's not like we'll have two strikers sitting right up top. We'll have two natural goalscorers on the pitch though and much more of a goal threat than we have currently.
Playing the the Emirates or Wembley 442 would be dangerous. At WHL 2 strikers in a 442 or 4132 is exactly what we need.... IMHO.

My guess is that it will be:

Lloris

Naughton Kaboul Vertonghen Rose

Mason Capoue

Lamela Eriksen Chadli

Adebayor

Although I personally would like to see Soldado in for Adebayor

Completely agree about Ade. I'll be disappointed if he starts today.

But let's not suggest that he's the only problem. Our creative players haven't been good enough so far this season and they need to improve starting today.

Mason should improve that

For both sides(second 11) the major problem has been the middle of the park, the CM hasn't done well enough to close the gap between themselves and the AM 3.

The difference in play when Dembele and Mason are on, is startling.

The AM hasn't done great find the striker either but soldado does push that defence line up creating space for the AM whereas Adebayor does go on more walkies and imo soldado links up better with the guy in the hole because he is better with his back to goal than ade.

For me one of Dembele or Mason has to start with one of Kane or Lamela in the hole behind soldado

If Capoue is fit I think it's safe to say that it'll be the same lineup against the scum. If Capoue isn't fit I think Stambouli will play, hence why he only played 65 minutes on Thursday. If Ade was to be dropped, I would imagine Kane would take his place, as much as I would love to see Soldado given a shot, I think it would be Harry the more likely of the two to be given the nod.

The Striker playing deeper would have to close down the midfield in the defensive phase of play making it 4411 otherwise 442 wouldnt work. Then pushing up when attacking.

We would only play 442 if Adebayor and Soldado are playing together otherwise Kane's natural position is as a no.10
