Fazio... what a useless lump! I hope he turns it around but his Tottenham career so far has not been good.

If only we were willing to meet the asking price for Marchisio or a solid PL centre back.

And for the person who wondered who was supposed to be on the right... it was Moussa. He could be found on the wrong side of the pitch when they began to attack.

One saving grace, at least Townsend was lively and productive

Behave thought fazio had a decent game , was a joke pen and sending off

I doubt Marchisio is going to solve our defensive problems. I take it you meant Musacchio?

Positives - Townsend

Negatives - poor against the long ball and no urgency in the 2nd half, a better team would have punished us.

Mitigating circumstance - the pitch was awful, a struggle to pass and run on.

The guy captained the winners of this competition last season. He's certainly not as poor as you're insinuating.

Then you have Vertonghen, ex captain of Ajax.

I refuse to believe all of these defenders are shit. The system, the work, it's not being sorted on the training ground.

Poch, earn your money, mate.

Phew big win, tricky fixture. Almost there, win at home to Partizan and we are through, its looking like 2nd spot though.

total lack of showing for the 2nd half.. disappointing from the lads whom some were like playing in the 2nd half of extra time...

our guys seriously need to be playing with some pride... if we don't use such games to build the winning mentality as much as we could, there is no way we will have that in league....

If you play the high line with the pace of dier, verts, fazio, and Davies then we deserve all we get. Stupid tactics in all honesty

It's a pen for me.

That reminded me of one we conceded against Newcastle back in 2006. Bowyer (I think) stopped dead in front of Davids, who couldn't pull up in time and bowled him over. By the letter of the law, it's a pen, however soft.

Yeah, I can see why people think it isn't or is soft, but for me, he makes no attempt to play the ball and makes every attempt to unbalance the player. He's tried to be clever, but the ref wasn't having it.

I'm happy with the 3 pts. The pitch was pretty bad, so i'll take the poor second half
