Good luck, because you will only consistently gain points from the number of saves he is forced to make to bail us out. Clean sheets, forget it. Even the Southampton one was lucky because one of their players conspired inexplicably to miss an open goal from less than 6 yards out in the last couple of mins which gifted us the 3 points.

Not getting at you specifically, but there is a double standard that is applied routinely here and this is a good example.

When an opposition player misses an open goal from 6 yards, people blame our defence and reckon we escaped with a 'lucky' result.

When a Spurs player misses a sitter (as Harry Kane did just before half time, which would have killed the game [had he not been offside]), people blame our attack and never reckon the opposition was 'lucky'.

Similarly, when we score a messy/scrappy goal, it's always 'lucky' and never down to crap defending by the other side. But when the opposition score a messy/scrappy goal, it's always the result of bad defending by a named Spurs player.

Agree although Kane was actually ruled offside iirc

Good point, I've also noticed a trend on here when people say if it wasn't for Lloris we'd be losing or would have lost, same logic applies.

I guess it's a way to enhance or strengthen their argument, God knows why people need to pick up on hypothetical moments to put us in a negative light...way too many dismissive people on here about Spurs tbh.

It is strange how we say things like "if we had a top striker we'd be winning this" but then almost complain when our top keeper does his job.

This.

Tbh I don't know why some of you feel the need to spit your dummies out over group stage europa league matches. We hardly ever play champagne football in these kind of game no matter who the manager has been. The aim is to navigate these tricky away matches without dropping any valuable points. Which we have done to extent and seem certain to qualify.

We don't get near to soda pop in any game........

Clarke Carlise aluded to it, as did Strachan. We brought an expensive, and prolific, centre forward who thrives on crosses. Since buying said striker we have ceased crossing the ball. We play the ball centrally and nullify he best attibutes. Call me crazy and naive but I think we should revert to some form of 4-4-2 with Townsend on the left, keeping the width, and crossing to either Soldado or Kane. Its not viable becasue we have over 50 central midfielders in the squad but there must be some solution. My point, I suppose, is we brought the wrong type of stiker for the system we were playing.

Your crazy......and extremely naive.

I'll get me coat.

I doubt Marchisio is going to solve our defensive problems. I take it you meant Musacchio?

You Sir are correct, I did mean Musacchio. And Marchisio wouldn't offer much in defence as he would out of position.

Serves me right for posting in anger. Lesson learnt

No worries, guv'nor! Marchisio would be a quality signing though.
