Sorry. I know this will disappoint. I didn't think it was a disastrously bad performance. Reserve Xl goes to Besiktas on a shitty pitch and outplays them pretty comprehensively and is very close to getting the result required to top group. Usual fuckwittedness not withstanding, of course.
I preferred Dembele in the more advanced position. I thought he ad a reasonably decent game.
Stambouli did OK. Even fucking Paulinho was a thin level above his usual meh.
Rose is a lazy fucker sometimes - and I was thinking that before Clerk Carlisle pointed it out. Honestly.
Townsend is still Townsend. Quelle Surprise.
Soldado may never score again.
I am flabbergasted that Lennon didn't come on and cause an instant tidal waive of positive energy that could be saddled and ridden by the rest of the team to a resounding victory. With all his pulling wide and making space for everyone and shit. Hey ho.
For balance's sake, should point out that Lamela came on and did an impersonation of Townsend.
Most disappointing was that the opportunity to play some of our development group, or at least have them on the bench was wasted.
We were good against Everton. Just have a little patience and perspective. Tonight was a whole raft of changes on a shit pitch in a game that wasn't critical to win.
Do me a favour - just wait one week, and if we're as bad against Swansea, Newcastle and Burnley I'll be sharing your concern wholeheartedly.
But we won't be.
When do we address the fact that we haven't scored in the last 3 ? What happens if we don't score against Swansea ? Do we blame it on fatigue and thurs night ? We are 1 loss away from a crisis. Lose Sunday and poch will be in alsorts of bother. And so the cycle continuesTotally agree.
I still can't believe the over reaction on here lol.
Please stop blaming the bloody pitch. These are highly paid professional footballers that should be able to pass a ball on a shitty pitch.
You know Bill Nicholson played for Spurs in their league title winning team in 1951. We were famous for our push and run football and he continued it with the double winning side when he was manager. Do you know how bad the pitches were in the 50's and 60's? They played with heavy balls and hob nailed boots (ok that's an exaggeration) but you know what I mean. But they could still play good, fast passing football.
You can go back and find plenty of teams that could play great, fast flowing entertaining football in all conditions.
Do you think this lot would not have been able to play on that pitch tonight?
What did you think about Walker's performance?Sorry. I know this will disappoint. I didn't think it was a disastrously bad performance. The Arsenal first team were playing the Besiktas first team. This was Spurs reserves against Besiktas reserves. They had 6 first choice players injured.
Oh and btw I don't go for the pitch was crap excuse. The Spurs double team had to play on some awful pitches, they managed ok. Have you seen any football from the 70's where players played on quagmires and managed to play some pretty good football. Jimmy Greaves didn't have a problem. He would've got a hat-trick playing tonight against that lot.

Come on ! If we were playing teams off the park and we were just unlucky then I would agree. But there's a poor mentality throughout our club. It's too easy to get beat and fold. We are notorious for having a soft centre and that's just what we have. And we don't have enough quality to hide that soft centre anymore. Poor poor performances have contribute to the boos and the drama ?!!!lol.
No excuses for fatigue on Sunday mate, he rested enough of them tonight.
Don't forget one of those games was Chelsea away, and the Palace game was our fourth in nine days - counting Partizan.
People are being way too dramatic.

Lose Sunday and I'm sure you will be vocal.
Win and you will vanish

He didn't trip over the ball every time he got into their half or try a lobbed 50 yard back pass. Good game.
