Didn't someone have it as their signature that if Harry Kane makes it with us they'll eat their undercrackers or something? :sneaky:

Gary cahill is the new John terry, **** of a guy! I can't say much more than this at the.moment as I am struggling to control my fingers on this phone as I am pissed

My synopsis is that he is a bell end

Cahill is such a turd ... and I mean that in the most diagnostically descriptive vein.

When the players were waiting in the tunnel before the game. The only three players that were ready early, were Bentaleb, Mason and Kane. They had probably been waiting for a couple of years for that moment.

I was just rewatching yesterdays match and the post match tunnel interviews. Harry Kane's importance to this club cannot be understated. His mentality is unmatched and to bring us back into the gamesingle handedly propelled us to victory. Listen to the post match interview with him and Rose. Danny Rose even said after chelsea scored, he thought it was gong to be another long day for us. Yeah, so did all of the fans. But the fact that the players have that mentality is the reason we usually capitulate against the bigger clubs. We need players with the same mentality and attitude as Kane. We also need to continue to play Kane and put a team behind him that allows him to keep developing. We need to sign a striker to compliment Kane and spell him, not replace him.

Harry Kane is quick thinking and uses his brain just like Teddy Sheringham and is a nightmare to mark

Quick thinking gives him edge

There was always a question mark over Kane’s pace, but now he seems much faster —that’s because he thinks quicker than those around him. He assesses the situation early, which allows him to make quick, correct decisions, just like Teddy Sheringham used to do. He knows when to apply the pace and when to pass. He is always looking for runners and because he is often a move ahead, things are coming off for him. His decision-making against Chelsea was as good as it gets and that was against one of the best sides in Europe. It was the complete centre forward’s performance.

He’s a hard-working fans’ man on the pitch

Kane is the Tottenham fan on the pitch. As a local lad he is more in tune with the feel of the club and can sense if things are taking a dip — that’s when he digs even deeper. He inspires his team-mates with his work and we have seen players over the years become the driving force for their team. That’s what Kane is now for Spurs.

Credit Mauricio Pochettino for giving him the chance and nurturing the likes of Kane, Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb.

Too many people focus on what young players can’t do rather than what they can do and when you look at the money Tottenham have spent, it’s no wonder the fans have loved seeing a kid grabbing his chance with both hands

...and he’s got the technique to match it

Initially it was Kane’s work ethic that impressed but now he is showing the technical ability to match. He has scored from distance before but his first against Chelsea proved it was no fluke. He seeks out the corners of the goal with power and precision. His second showed great technique to spin and take Nemanja Matic out of the game but it was the finish that I loved. Lots of young strikers try to hit the leather off the ball but Kane was patient. He dragged his foot, waited and made sure he was set before pulling the trigger. It was a fine finish and he is a far better player than people give him credit for.

He’s always on the move and nightmare to mark

The great thing about Kane is that he does not stand and wait to be marked. His positional awareness is outstanding. He will pull off into deeper or wide positions to receive the ball because he knows that defenders can’t follow him there. If he stays central and defenders try to get tight, he anticipates that and tries to run in behind. He is constantly moving and that makes him hard to keep out of the game.

Powerful play is key

He might only be 21 but Kane is no kid. He’s tough, strong and wants to take the fight to his opponents. He shrugged off Oscar with ease for his first goal and gave John Terry, Gary Cahill and Matic nightmares. Cahill in particular couldn’t cope with Kane’s combination of power and desire. They were all swinging for Kane but they couldn’t put a glove on him.

We always knew Kane had presence to go with his talent but I've been surprised how good he was in the last two games. The maturity and accomplishment of his play was almost astonishing. Especially since he's looked a little greedy and overenthusiastic recently.

He seemed to understand his role, the necessity of retaining possession etc. and he did it almost perfectly.

That Sp3akerboxxx actually neg-rated the above post confirms the obvious: the guy has issues that go far beyond a seizure-inducing user name.

Like many of us, I have been aware of Kane for what seems like forever but in reality is about 5 years. He always seemed to score goals and he was a big lad who went out on loan to develop him. The jury Was out as to whether he'd make it but nobody seemed to want to get him off our books. I saw him vs Hearts on TV, and bits and pieces for other clubs, but there were no signs he would definitely make it for us.

People comment on his lack of pace and other weaknesses. The thing about every footballer is they can't have everything. Some have size, others technique, others mental frailty, laziness, etc. Ronaldo is probably the nearest thing to the perfect footballing specimen in the modern era, physically and mentally. Bale is similar but further down the scale. Messi is awesome, tough but tiny, so limited in certain areas (winning headers).

Most people in life accept his/her weaknesses. Footballers are no different. But a minority of people and footballers don't accept what fate has dealt them. They have a special attribute, a kind of Dave Mackay-Roy Keane determination to conquer fate. It looks very much as if Harry Kane has some of this.

Firstly he clearly has a massive work ethic. He maximises his natural talents; his power and balance and ability have been worked on since he was a kid via endless training and playing. But secondly he has the intelligence and drive to work out areas he can develop to compensate for his relative weaknesses. No raw speed? Just think faster, gain the extra yard, use body and balance to beat naturally faster people. Not being played? Become so fit with so much stamina you can run 12ks in a match twice a week so you show up everybody else. Shooting? Do what very few strikers do and aim for the corners. It risks making you look like a wally with a low on-target percentage but if you practise enough it can be devastating. Above all, losing a match? Simply refuse to accept it. Lift your own game and those around you to victory.

There's a long way to go. Fireworks can fizzle out. But the incredible thing is the boy is only 21. Who knows what his all round ability can make him become?

He's so grounded, I very much doubt the hype surrounding him at the moment will hold him back.

Plus, he owns the record for most cliche's used in a single post-match interview...

It'll be interesting to see how this performance springs him into the next few matches. Burnley, Crystal Palace, Sheffield United (2 times) and West Brom are all coming up in the next few weeks. If he can continue this rich vein of form, Lord knows how many goals he may have and how high we may be flying as a club.

That's why it vital for the club to invest in a couple of players that can really push this club on in 2015.

People are saying they don't want another striker now Kane is banging them in, but I totally disagree. I think it's important we get a forward that complements the skill set of Kane and that can help take off a little bit of pressure.

We are all looking at him now to change games for us and so are his team mates.

So are Kaz and Omarscoming who thought he was a bag of shit 3 months ago (tongue in cheek lads ;-))

I just realised Kane has a ready made theme tune and maybe it suits him as some pundits are saying he's like an old fashioned centre forward ;)
