If not Mason then who?

I don't know why Stambouli isn't getting any pitch time. Maybe fitness issues, who knows. He's on the bench all the time so can't be far off. Definitely wouldn't trust Paulinho to turn up though. I'd like Bentaleb, Stambouli and Dembele in a 3 but it won't happen. Good luck to Bentaleb and Mason if they start as a 2 - they'll need it.

There's been plenty of games where you'd think it's a perfect opportunity to give Stambouli a run out or a start, but it just hasn't happened.

If he starts against citeh it will be very strange.

Can't see a change in formation either for that matter, even though we need an extra cm obviously.

Lloris
Dier fazio verts rose
Bentaleb paulinho
Lamela Eriksen chadli
Kane

4222:

Lloris
Yedlin, Dier, Fazio, Vertonghen (or changes if Rose is fit)
Bentaleb, Eriksen
Lamela, Dembele,
Chadli, Kane

Here, Eriksen, Lamela, Dembele will alternate in joining the attack for a 433 if in possession of the ball. When possession is lost, Dembele & Bentaleb will swap places, and Bentaleb & Lamela will be key responsible for early identification of pressing opportunities.

Christmas tree formation.

Lloris
Yedlin, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose
Bentaleb, Stambouli, Dembele
Lamela, Chadli
Kane

Width from the fullbacks and the two behind Kane given some freedom.

Just a question, with the FL72 season about to close, would Alli and Pritchard be available (if MK Dons automatically get promotion and Brentford fail to get into the play-offs) for the rest of the season.

It would be good to see them in a Tottenham shirt for the remaining games.

I personally think we have looked better with Lamela in the team but still think there's a player in Townsend which will come out eventually. I don't understand the abuse the lad gets. I works hard and has made gradual progress this season. He's inconsistent but I feel he has special attributes that get excel him to a higher level if coached correctly.

My team against a fragile City would be Lloris, Yedlin, Davies, Dier, Vertonghen, Bentaleb, Stambouli, Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli and Kane.

Dont know why alot of people want to drop Eriksen. I can't agree. He is our best player so has got to play even if he is off-form.

While I am also curious about Yedlin I think Chi should play ahead of him. We are planning to sell alot of our players so we should field the deadwood as much as possible. Give them a chance to shine and hopefully get a better price. Yedlin's time will come.

After last week's shambles i would play rose if he is fit ahead of Davies.

I'm sure Kane will appreciate our defence giving Aguero a hat-trick towards his golden boot. It wont matter which team we play or setup, we'll get fucking tanked. 4 or 5-1

Hugo, Yedlin, Dier, Verts, Rose, Bents, Mason, Coco, Dembele, Chadli and Kane.

Reasons:
1. Yedlin needs game time to gain experience and city play with no width so he can utilise the space.
2. Dier is a better player than Fazio nuff said.
3. Dembele is touch and go to be here next season and Poch has a decision to make if he is in his plays going forward. CK also needs to understand if his form drops he is NOT undroppable.

Rose wont be fit either will he? Verts may have to be played at left back, which isnt a bad thing IMO.

Stoke City style all CB back 4: Vlad Dier Fazio Verts ;)

It would serve us well to inject pace and width against City, which we can do without even having to sit the player who actually implements Poch's pressing. It's sensible to finally give Yedlin an opportunity. But Yedlin should start even if Rose is healthy, IMO. I'd drop Dier and keep the Fazio/Vertonghen partnership. They seem to have a good understanding and even taking into account Fazio's fuck ups, that partnership still has a better defensive record than Dier/Vertonghen.

Dier should start over Fazio every single day of the week, for me it's not about what partnership fares better we just need Dier to get as much exposure and games as possible especially against these world class strikers like Aguero so that he can improve and that he has done to be fair to him - very happy with his progress.

My XI

Lloris
Dier, Fazio, Vertonghen, Rose
Mason,Stambouli, Bentaleb,
Chadli, Kane,Eriksen

4-3-3. Stambouli to give extra protection in middle & "try" to contain David Silva

Against City, only defenses that are organised can survive. 0- 3 City IMO

I've been and still am no fan of Lamela but he has to play.
I'm sick of seeing our misfiring expensive superstars finally scorin, getting some confidence, only to then be dropped to the bench the next game and instantly being low on confidence again. Poor management.
We've nothing to play for.
Play him and see if against all odds he starts to show what we paid for and what we've yet to see.
I personally think it'll never happen for him in the EPL but to drop him now would be pointless.
Unless a deal is already done of course and we dont want him getting injured... ooh if only lol.
