I don't think we ever had any info on whether we need to sell first before buying - but looking at the Swiss Ramble's http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Tottenham Hotspur summary of Spurs position at the end of June 2014, we had a 56% wages to turnover ratio, and with a relatively quiet 2014 TW, I'd imagine that we can certainly afford to buy 2/3/4 players early whilst having a player sale programme running in parallel.

But we definitely need to sell some as we have a ;large squad, particularly as we have brought in Academy players without getting rid of the players they replaced, so I imagine we will hear more about sales shortly than we have done - so far other than Stambouli to Marseille there's been limited talk of outgoings, and even that one has been poo pooed by the player.

We also know we have a full quota of 17 non HG players - so with Wimmer and likely Ayew coming in that's 2 of the 17 who need to be sold. At the moment we have 2 almost 3 months to sell players, but with the number who we ideally want to sell(maybe 8 - 10) that's still about one a week !

Sounds promising... What have I missed today...work got in the way of a good old fashioned refresh button syndrome on SC...

ITK has been pretty dry ever since the Willian fiasco.

I really miss POTL. Great ITK and seems that he's been in hiding ever since then- an unpredictable, freak event that no-one can be held responsible for. A genuine shame :(

I miss POTL but I also miss ITK with a bit of setup (or foreplay, if you will).

The fishing trips with agents. People running into Baldini in restaurants and airports. Someone who is a family friend of a player...etc. It's early in the summer and I refuse to already be cynical so I'll donate £10 the next time we get solid info through one of these sort of happenings.

Not to mention an encounter with Huntelaar at an airport...

JJ made a pretty definitive statement that there is no chance he is coming, so I don't think Ayew is 'likely' to come, especially as Grey Fox didn't say he would.

Why are ITKs so scarce these days?
More conscious I think.

The ones who are really connected and are also Tottenham supporters don't want to tip the hand of their favourite club to others as the growing social media of other clubs in the world has eyes everywhere now. So we typically see knowledge on transfers that are somewhat already well known or well guessed.

Then there's the ITK from others who aren't supporters themselves and will give information more freely, but often this is information isn't as strong and isn't as available because they're not connected to the club.

That's just my guess at least.

Amid all that stuff about the quality of ITK there was a mention of Aymen Abdennour from Monaco which immediately got dismissed and it all went back to the much more important stuff :cautious: . Hertyid says we're talking to him. According to his agent also there has been a concrete offer from Spurs although somewhere else has said Bayern have beaten Newcastle. Maybe the concrete offer was in January?

We are getting ITK on who isnt going to be signing and none on who we are trying to sign.

Surely this is an ITK first?

It's very easy to get caught! Only a certain amount of people will know info that's meant to be 'hush hush'. The clubs media department also monitor these pages. Sometimes it's not worth the risk. Even if it comes from 'The Goat'. It's not difficult to trace who's leaking info.

Yep. I think to some extent 'ITK' has eaten itself. People with connections used to share information with a few people on non-public access internet forums, perhaps naively thinking that it wouldn't go much further. Now as soon as someone posts anything ITK it gets republished on other forums within a matter of seconds.

I suspect that's why we've seen a drop in info from the likes of Roger Morgan, whilst others like PoTL and Peanut have disappeared altogether. I know the sharing of ITK on other forums was a concern on Spurs Odyssey.
