The fact that he responded so quickly might mean that he wants no talk out there of Joe Lewis selling as negotiations are at a crucial stage and having it known publicly could be problematic.
Willian problematical?

I imagine Levy would be clued in on it if there was an actual M&A going on seeing as he holds a 20% or so stake of ENIC. Uncle Joe still has the clout but Levy would know.

If Lewis only sell his stake, he does not need to seek Levy approval hence it depends how the deal is structured. Just saying.

Very sad to see how many want Andros gone. Proper Tottenham lad, who loves playing for us. His contribution improved as the season went on, and he got more familiar with the system, too.

He spoke briliantly about being Spurs in Malaysia. Perfect sort of guy to help bed in "bigger talents" (ha!) from overseas to appreciate the club when they join.

It will be a sad day if we ever don't have space for talent and passion for the club like Andros.

Also, if you think ANY club owner will willingly leave this season or next: you crazy.

Got a decent contact who says even Mike Ashley, who has basically had enough, changed his mind when he saw how much he'd make with the new TV deal. Much more than anything but a truly astronomical takeover deal could bring them.

I don't think Pochettino sees it the same way as fans.

Don't think anyone disputes he's a great lad, and its fantastic that he's Spurs. Of course.

But what some will dispute is his effectiveness on the pitch, particularly the way in which Pochettino demands. That's not sad, its just an accurate observation. He doesn't work off the ball, which is a pretty essential requirement under Pochettino, and he just doesn't show enough in terms of being a team player.

If that ever looks like changing I wouldn't be against persevering, but lets be honest - he's had a shit load of opportunity to demonstrate to the contrary and hasn't.

I think the problem is that he doesn't look like he is going to step up with us but he still holds a good value on the market do you cash in and try again or keep with him and expect his value to drop if his form continues.

If he can just up his level, even slightly then I would love him to stay.

Exactly.

What rubs me the wrong way though is those people who just call for him to be gone like he's a piece of meat, ignorant of how much his heart is in the club.

Disrespectful doesn't even come close.

This isn't being facetious, but if his heart is so Tottenham, why does he play for himself so much and not more for the team?

Because that's what shines through very clearly to me and is precisely the problem.

And I don't think anyone is wanting just to dump him, he's had a lot of opportunity. I think some would just entertain the notion of selling if we received a decent bid.

Completely agreed.

I don't think he's a selfish player at all, I think he just wants to succeed at Spurs so goddamn badly that he tries too hard.

If he were entirely selfish, he'd still be blasting shots every second given the chance. He never shoots anymore, displaying a clear instruction to no longer do so, and a willingness to follow a clear instruction.

If he were entirely selfish and were overly confident, he wouldn't be working hard in training. We've heard from many sources he's one of the hardest workers in training.

When you also consider how incredible the difference is in his play between England and Spurs, it's obvious it's a problem with him being at Spurs rather than an intrinsic problem within the player. IMO, given the evidence and from his body language while playing with us, I think it's that he wants to succeed at Spurs too much. If he just wanted to succeed as a player, I think he'd have left looong ago when he was being loaned out repetitiously and after Spurs brought in a record signing at his favored position. But he has stayed and fought, and arguably fought too hard.

A couple of 'Spam' ratings and a 'Doh'. So far. That may be another indication that Tottenham Hotspur may indeed be up for sale. I've noticed on here that some posters give out these sort of ratings to disparage a point of view that might go contrary to what the Club wants it's fans (and others) to think or what some agents might feel goes against their own and their client's well-being.

Perhaps this is a similar situation.
BSODL's will neg anything that has to do with takeover talk. They cant stand the thought of ENIC being out.

I actually went through the whole thought process:
"Wow, never would have guessed Levy was 78, bald head sure, but he still looks young. Must be special oils the rich can afford to keep their skin looking young.."

I suppose that Boston Spur has a limited grasp of grammar.
