Yes. And player agents too. A great way to impact public opinion. Of course these individuals would have other tasks as well. But PR has many aspects to it.

There's a lot of cash involved in football and clubs and player agents use all the tools at their disposal to persuade people to their point of view.

I'm not saying the aluminium foil on your head isn't a good look for you, but...

I think they'd have bigger worries than a couple of thousand nerds on a website.

One of the daftest things you've ever said I'm afraid.

Your views are considerably more myopic than anyone who I've seen express any support for Levy.

Levy could win the league, Champions League and World Cup whilst bringing you to orgasm with his little finger and you'd still complain about something.
???

Just googled it, it's the mayor of Baltimore.
But still, ???
Sorry, I spelt Petyr wrong. Petyr Baelish, otherwise known as Littlefinger in Game of Thrones (Machiavellian brothel keeping character with a finger in every pie). Flat joke. :( Sorry for delay in explaining. Phone rang!

And that's the kind of comment I expected. Posters here can make up their own minds. It'll be interesting to see what actually happens over the summer. Then we'll see who's wearing the aluminium foil.

So are you also suggesting that @Bobbins and @Chris12 work for the club and feel that a single negative rating on a football forum is important as part of THFC PR?

Knew it.

I appreciate and respect ITK, but it has all been so far off the mark in the last year or so that I don't let it influence my thinking as much as I have done at other times.
It's not really been that off the mark, it just hasn't been first to everything.

All the respectable media have ruled Ayew out as well btw.

Flipping a coin would have given you a higher hit rate than last summer. Interest in Davies and Stambouli in particular were being denied by very reputable ITKs at the very moment they were announced on the OS.

I just think the leaks were plugged after Sherwood and Ferdinand left and everyone remaining is now so far removed from the top table that they don't get a sniff any more

That may or may not be the case.

Typically, disparaging ratings such as 'Doh' and 'Spam' are entered against reasonable opposing viewpoints (in my opinion) when those entering those ratings want to put down or discourage that point of view in a bullying sort of way. Who likes to be told they're stupid? It discourages that different viewpoint from being voiced again. Similarly, comments such as "You need to see a brain surgeon" are again typical to silence an opinion that others may not want voiced or expressed.

On top of that, and continuing in the same vein, a number of posters might gang up and bully an opposing view into silence. (Indeed what might appear to be several posters may be one individual with several identifies/computers).

Of course, these actions may simply be individuals expressing themselves independently.

On the other hand, they may be Club employees pushing the party line - or player agents (or their minions) pushing a situation that is beneficial to the agent and the player.

What I said, in response to AY's ITK information that his friend told him that the Club was not in negotiations with a buyer, was that his friend might be lying. Indeed, with the speed of response from his 'friend' who had essentially ignored him recently, I mentioned that this speed of response to deny this possibility might mean that his 'friend' wanted to scotch the idea before it went much further. (Negotiations can be very tricky).

So let's see what happens in the coming months...

Has anyone explained who "Gabe's People" are? I was thinking of an alternative Dance Troupe but doubt that's right.

So me rating you questioning the ITK as spam means I'm bullying you?

Some snippets received over the last 24 hours. {Best stay away from this post if you can't cope with cryptics}

Received from Galahad at WHL:
"NFL deal is going slower than hoped as both sides work their way through the details. No feeling on either side that the remaining issues are intractable. Takes time to create a complex agreement. Patience."

Received from Gabriel in NY:
"Woah. Big new player has jumped into the game from this side of the pond. Deep pockets - many billions. JL satisfied with price; DL wants more. Niger Petra!"

Received from Ghalib in the ME:
"My guys are worried by Gabe's people. Fear is they are a better fit than us. Less push back from fans. AAS will be sitting down with his boys at the QIA and having a re-think about the big picture strategy (THFC are only a part of their vision). Shit happens."

I haven't been able to crack the 'Niger Petra' code (African Jordanians? River Rose? ), so I'm handing this one over the COYS brains trust.

Gabes People are those mentioned in post from Gabriel, i.e. Niger Petra

Wasn't it just that one of the ITK sources, attached to a different set of prospective owners, was called Gabriel?

Surely right now is the stupidest time to sell a PL club, right before the massive new TV rights deal comes in and inflates everybody's profits... JL and Levy are smarter than selling any time soon. The club will be worth more after the first year of the deals figures come in.

If he has any plans to sell I can't see it being done before the stadium is complete.

Complainings my forte though;)
