If I had the luxury to choose between Kondogbia and MS I would go for MS.... even though I believe Kondogbia has more potential/higher ceiling, and - with the right attitude - can turn into a truly world class player, a la Yaya Toure.
The reason why I would choose MS, however, is that he seem more disciplined player (partly, because he's more "limited" in ability compared to Kondogbia) and thus fits our needs for a DM better. Plus, I think it will be easier to keep MS and Kondogbia for duration of an contract (yes, it is very subjective but it's still my opinion).
But heck, I would be thrillled to have Kondogbia come to Spurs though.
I would be amazed but thrilled with either

Why would you even bother posting this article?

This, again is ridiculous.

It's like half of these threads look like pure stupidity when the window shuts.
We're going to sign this player, are we?

Yeah. Course we are.

Can people not vet the links a little more thoroughly before just posting up random players that may as well have been drawn out of a hat??

Out of all the incomings this summer, there may be four or five(?) in total.
We all know who our likely targets are.

That makes the entirety of the rest of the inane wish-list style scattergun format of the TR forum, and the paper-thin links that get posted up utterly ridiculous.

If this guy is a Spurs player on Sep 1st, I'll eat my hat.

I'm fairly sure my hat is safe.

Ask @kaz Hirai how his underwear are doing before you start making clothing eating promises.

We've probably got one preferred target at DM this summer.....Schneiderlin. If (when?!) we don't get him, we've obviously got a back up list that we have scouted and spoken to their clubs/agents etc in case we need to push through a deal. If we're hoping to bring in 5 players this summer, we're probably looking at 15-20 possible players to make sure we actually fill those positions. Same as any other club. Big Geoffrey could well be one of those we're considering.

would be happy with either, kondogbia certainly will be a statement of intent if we land him and would solve our cdm issues almost immediately

Excuse me sir, but would it not be better if you did not enter the threads of players that are not among the "four og five(?)" we all know who are, if it annoys you so?

I love reading about players linked by the vaguest link myself.

AC Milan WAITING to hear if they have beaten Arsenal and Tottenham to Monaco ace Kondogbia
AC MILAN chief Adriano Galliani says he won't leave Monaco until a deal is done for Geoffrey Kondogbia.

AC are joined by Milan rivals Inter in the hunt for Kondogbia, and Galliani says Juventus are also interested.
Juve have previously downplayed talk of a move for the French midfielder, although Arsenal and Tottenham are both thought to be keen on the player.
Galliani jetted out for Monaco last night to hold talks over a move for Kondogbia and admits he will not now leave until his destination has been decided.

He told Sky Sports Italia: "I won't leave Monte Carlo."I am neither optimistic nor pessimistic. I've been doing negotiations for too many years to say one way or the other.
"I can say Juventus are in the running too. With us and Inter it's practically a Trofeo TIM in Monte Carlo."
Inter will reportedly turn to Marseille ace Giannelli Imbula - a target for Chelsea - if they miss out on Kondogbia.

Kondogbia agrees to join Inter

The French midfielder has decided to join the Nerazzurri instead of AC Milan and is expected to complete the move on Monday after a medical

By Fabrizio Romano

Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has agreed to join Italian giants Inter after snubbing city rivals AC Milan, Goal understands.

Both Milanese clubs have been in negotiations for the 22-year-old midfielder, with Milan originally seen as the favourites to buy him.

Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani, who travelled to Monte Carlo to meet with the player on Thursday, complained that Kondogbia would cost upwards of €35 million and bemoaned the player's wage demands.

Inter have capitalised on their city rivals' apprehension and are now set to complete the transfer, after he was swayed by a telephone call from Roberto Mancini on Friday.

While the two teams still have to come to a final agreement over the transfer fee, the France international has agreed a five year deal with Inter worth €4m a season plus bonuses. He is set to have a medical on Monday.

Kondogbia spent two seasons at Monaco after joining from Sevilla. The midfielder scored three goals in 33 games in all competitions in 2014-15. He was also of interest to Spanish duo Barcelona and Real Madrid, as well as a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham.

Wonder what this will mean for imbula, or will they go for both?

Can't believe that from Inter. Guess this doesn't bode well for our Martial pursuit

This to me is a great example of the counter argument against letting the manager choose the players.

I am positive we could have got Kondogbia if the reports are true and he's going to Inter for 22m and €5m per year and he would have represented the potential to develop into at least as useful (maybe even better) and the real possibility of increasing in value (possibly considerably).

I like Schniederlin but Kondogbia represents the better investment IMO.

As an aside, MIranda for 18m is also a great bit of business, very good CB.

I know that Inter carries a lot of prestige, but seen as they've been a pretty average team for a while I'm really surprised. I'm shocked that Kondogbia would go to them too, if he went they're, surely we could've got him if we wanted him but I don't understand why we wouldnt want him. Can only hope it's because we're getting someone better but I'm not convinced. Just so surprised he's gone they're, especially if they're getting Imbula too

You have to remember that salaries in Serie A are reported post-tax. In this case €5m post-tax is about £7m a year pre-tax, or £130k/week. That's a lot more than our highest earner.

Shocked by him going to Inter, they have been pretty ordinary, no European football again next year

They've finished in these positions last 4 years:
8th
5th
9th
6th

According to the inter chairman, he cost 40m euros, which I believe it about 28.6m pounds.
