They lost Suarez and sturridge got injured for most the year

And this year it looks like they are losing sterling and sturrige will probably be injured most of the year.
Anyway thi is not itk. There is a thread in general football or one in spurs chat discussing this to death. I have even thrown my 2 pence worth in.

Get a grip man.

We've already signed two players - defenders no less - in the position we most needed to re-inforce this summer.

We have 6 weeks until the start of the PL, so if we can tie up most of the rest of our signings (i expect 3 more players in) within the next 2-3 weeks then they still have a good amount of time to train.
I am getting a grip. Simply pointing out fact. Our transfer window so far is nor better or worse because it's not 1st of July yet. That specific date doesn't really bear any importance. As you can see, I wasn't complaining about our transfer dealings, nor ITK, so far. But about 1 specific argument I frequently see in these threads and don't agree with.

WTF are we so obsessed with DM anyway? Its almost as bad as RB.

Weve needed a fucking striker for years, followed by a decent winger.

We all know how this transfer windows gonna pan out, tales of quality signings but in reality it will be underwhelming, it's played out like this for years and will continue to until we are in a position to pay better wages, that is the tall and short of it. We all knew schneiderlin weren't coming and martial too but it ain't the end of the world.

Yes its all about wages. But we re the 13th richest club in europe. Weve a tv deal worth 100m a year soon. Our turnover should break 200m next season. So where is all the money going?

I think we need a leader on the pitch doesn't matter where he plays cos we've got so many lightweight fannys who need a kick up the arris' but do agree we lack pace badly, slow as fuck we are especially in forward areas!

The only reason for them to spend some money in the near future is if we finish below 6th IMO. Otherwise we will still pick up bargains.

Part of the excitement of the transfer window is chasing targets; losing them - sometimes - getting new ones; seeing how they fair etc. I'm just happier knowing there appears to be a Poch agenda to finding HIS choices... Gutted if MS has flown, but there'll be others

The one thing that really bugs me is when we get the old "the club are confident on getting their targets" bollocks, as I have no confidence whatsoever that we will ever get our number 1targets.

If we wanted MS, and offered the right money we could have got him last year. Instead we bought a load of players that are no where near first team level.

mediocre players - hmmmm!!

only if we knew when we splashed out 17m on a Brazilian international, I guess there was no crystal ball to predict how successful we would be.

French international in capoue, I believe Arsenal were after him at that period,

Spanish international goal scorer.

sometimes signing player x could be seen as a master stroke, other times it doesn't seem so.

To say we go out and buy mediocre players is a bit unfair, as no one can foresee it being successful or not.
The good scouts can separate the players who will succeed in the Premier League from those who will not. In many cases our scouts failed to do this. Scouting is not about luck but is about judgement.

Arguably. We only ever hear part of the story.. Were we really near to getting Mouts or Willian that time? Who cares... Spilt milk etc... Whoever we get we'll have to accept and hope Poch is the coach to get the best from our recruits

Round and round and round we fecking go...

When asked if Schneiderlin was staying at Saints, Koeman replied: "Yes, because he's not for sale."

There was near on anarchy at Southampton last summer.

We missed the boat.

Move on man.

All im saying is anyone is for sale, we just dont offer the sale price. If we offered 25m last year we would have got him.
