The general rule is 'No Twitter' because that's easiest to remember. (You'd think ) Although on occasion we have turned a blind eye to Spurs Official. But the trouble with any relaxation of the rule is that in some people's heads that then translates to Watford Official, The Kings Head 2nd Team Official and pretty much any account with the word "official" in it.

I'm happy with the rule and apologise again for my post. I always thought the twitter rule was to remove BS rumours and that actual facts would be ok (Watford are unlikely to be WUMs). That said banning everything but JJ and Gards makes a lot of sense to remove ambiguity.

If we were to extend it to clubs 'official' twitter accounts we'd be inundated which creates two big problems.

1: People are often fooled by spoof 'official' accounts and post them
2: as a result, (and as you say) people would then assume that all Twitter was fair game

We've seen this in the past as we've tried variations on the rule when Twitter was first inflicted upon us.

If I was crabby about it then i'm sorry, its the pressure. The daily grind and all that. Being well hung and good looking will only get one so far and occasionally a crack appears in my metrosexual facade. But I always pretty soon regret it and go back to ****ing you all off through gritted teeth :D

This window is going pretty well. We're gradually shifting the players we want out from Most Quality (Holtby) to least quality (Ade/Kaboul). Hopefully Levy is building it up like a good concert with Ade as the Encore!

That's cool, no worries. Now if only the official website wasn't running on a 256k modem this wouldn't be an issue!

Paulinho, Holtby, Capoue and, it seems, Stambouli all off is a good start.

Few more still to go (Kaboul, Ade, Chiriches, Soldado) but it looks promising in terms of shifting some of the deadwood so far. If we can get rid of that other 4, that should really free us up to bring in 2-3 quality players (centre back, centre mid, striker) and hopefully leave us with a bit of space for a couple of others if we can find sufficient quality.

This cabbage cryptic is starting to get as annoying as a fat, American cartoon playing Surf'N'Bird on repeat

Surely from a legal point of view, If Southampton havnt paid up the agreed price or Toby hasnt agreed terms and signed in time with them, then that makes the agreement void also?

Indeed, surely their agreement with AM is just with them and not also a joing agreement with TA. In fact even if they did have a joing agreement with TA i'm pretty sure the EU would have something to say about them being able to force TA to honour it.

There won't be any solution given until The Goat's source gives the all clear.

And as for it getting annoying……Meh. You asked for it, you got it.
will you let us know when that is? Because if you are then we know very well not to ask when that might be! ;)

(and we can storm-spam-rate anyone who does :playful:)

That Telegraph article seems to imply that Saints just want their 1.5m (which apparently they have yet to receive) rather than demanding the player signs with them. As we have paid well over what Saints would need to have (11.5m compared to 6.8m), I don't think the deal is at risk as we have effectively compensated both sides.

Makes sense really, and presumabley still a decent deal for AM as they get more money overall and TA get the move he wants.

Very promising, given that it's normally near the end of the window when the offers for deadwood come in. Just leaves the big question of whether we will be able to sanction a net transfer loss or not (which would be necessary to get 3 more in). Hasn't happened for quite some time...

Yes agree with this, i can't remeber the last time we managed to shift 3 deadwood players off for decent money this quickly in the window.

Well yeah, of course. As soon as I get the OK The Goat will give the solution and I will sit back to be entertained by the meltdown.

Add Lennon to that list of rumoured departures. Plus if the mounting ITK/media speculation is correct, Alderweireld is imminent, you'd assume another CB may be at risk of departing.
