I believe we are around £200 away from hitting the 'cabbagegate' target. It won't be the reveal and there won't be direct clues, but there will be a couple of things regarding it that i'll let out that you may or may not find interesting.

So if you haven't donated……….why not!

Helped the target along by a £100 donation.

Can I ask for an upgrade on Austin now ? :);)

getting Charlie Austin would make my day.

My 5 year old son is called Austin and he thinks it's the best thing every hearing his name when the football is on. Now if he was playing for us I would be less at risk at him supporting another team.

So yeah...this needs to happen for my son's future loyalty.
My 5 year old is exactly the same, loving him because of his name. More to do with his love of cocaine though.. Kids ey!

Wouldn't be happy with signing Austin

Knows where the back of the net is but it would be like signing Darren Bent all over again, whole system would have to be redone to play to Austin's strengths, chances of him working well with Kane are zero
He would be backup, wouldn't play wit . Kane

Don't believe for a minute Austin would be Pochettino's choice. His overall game is too limited. And he's not really a mobile pressing option - the one sparking things from the front either.

Nor do I think Austin would come to sit on the bench where he could hold out for a Club like Newcastle, and play week in week out.

I rather have Llorente for 3 season....

@jetsetyid@TobyFMinch@THFCSPURS19 to be fair, kramer and son fit the cryptic and A&C and Rob's posts today perfectly...

@DrRubenzo@TobyFMinch@THFCSPURS19 it really does doesn't it

Not to mention JJ mentioned Kramer was looking unlikely in the Q&A session then the Goat bleated out one of the cabbages were looking unlikely.

Austin's all round game is limited IMO. Yes he's lively in the box, can handle himself well and can finish well enough, but his movement is nothing special and nor is his link up play. I mean he's ok in those respects but he's taylor made for a side that's all about just playing to his strengths, basically look for Austin every opportunity in and around the box - as opposed to joining a team like us where he'd have a wider responsibility for how we play as a team.
I agree. Also for a man that scores a fair few I still think he snatches at a lot of chances.

I could see the merits in Austin, although I hope it's one quite far down the list. Basically taking up the Soldado role, i.e. coming on when the other team is holding on for a draw. Used to hate it when we did it with Robbie because he contributed little, was far from clinical and it usually meant moving Kane away from goal. At least in this scenario Austin would make a nuisance of himself and he seems a decent poacher. Plus doubt he needs stellar service coming from QPR!

Build up play is an interesting one, it could be said Ade got too involved, and Soldado whilst having some nice touches just isn't working. Plus we have early crossing from Trippier now so having a constant presence in the box may be a good thing.

Another point is that by taking a safe option here we can bring in an N'jie or Werner and not have to rush them in or put too much pressure on them, hoping that they have pushed Austin down the pecking order by the end of the season. We can then sell him easily to a Newcastle or West Ham next season if required.

I'd prefer the Llorente option to play his role but tbf Austin would probably notch more goals.

Don't agree with the Bent comparison btw, his game was all about counter attack whereas Austin scored a variety of goals including many in a packed box (set pieces, etc...).

Like the look of Werner from all those linked. Think he'd be flexible as a striker or wing forward or even a 10. Talented and fast.

There is absolutely zero chance of Austin being interested in coming here to sit on the bench, he is at the peak of his career, has become an England regular, he would reject us in a heartbeat

I think I 100% know what the cabbages are.

We've had hints that the cabbages refer to brussel sprouts.

Brussel refers to Brussels which is in Belgium. Also refers to Anderlecht which is in Brussels, Belgium

We have had multiple ITKs on a Belgium 21 yo wide forward from Monaco including Jasper Update 79. At that time, Jasper said the sticking point was that we thought his fee was too high. This may be what is being referred to by ITKs such as the Goat that 1 of the cabbages is unlikely right now.

That player is Yannick Ferreira Carrasco. He is cabbage #1 and the one who is the most difficult since he has Arsenal, Roma, Juventus, and I'm sure others rumored to be in for him. He may be the one Grey Fox alludes to in Update 108 a wideman who would be "a late stellar signing," who has "big fish in the pond"

Youri Tielemans is Cabbage #2. He is a CM, so fits the targets as well. He plays for RSC Anderlecht in Brussels. However, he also could be the difficult one since I think other huge clubs have been in for him including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and other smaller clubs including Liverpool.

Both players are from the same grocer, their agent, Christophe Henrotay.

These two have "huge exciting potential" referred to by Jasper, again, in Update 107.

EDIT: Apologies to @razor1981 - I knew I didn't get here on my own creative thought and must have seen it before. He had it first, found here The Weekend ITK Discussion Thread 4th/5th July 2015. If you haven't repped him, go do it, especially if you rep me.
