Jasper on SO:

Pritchard is all agreed on 4 year with year option from what I hear. Wouldn't be surprised if already signed with delayed announcement along the lines of Onomah (who agreed weeks ago). I have not heard anything to contradict that. Hope this is the case before the eggs start flying.

Fantastic relief if this is true. I think this lad will be a smash hit in Pochettino's system. Is as of this moment the single only AM we have who can create his own space in congestion, and as such I think if he's included this term that he'll surprise some folks.

Great to see us tying up all these contracts.

Such a shame that Pritchard picked up that knock in the U21s.

Levy may have his faults but you have to say he's very good with contracts. I also think having Poch at the helm is a big factor in these players deciding to sign on. They can see a clear path to the first team and know if they're good enough they will get their chance, whereas the same can't be said at the likes of City and Chelsea even if they'd be earning more.

Good news re Pritchard but can we cut the lad a bit of slack, few of us have seen him play, nobody has seen him tested in the prem, lets not build him up like we have so many before.

Some of us have been watching him play for years. Ever since the next gen series where he destroyed barca and inter milan.
Last season we watched him do great in the championship and then be one of the only bright spots in the u21 euro's for england.

We know that he has the capability. He just has to apply it.

We're just excited that yet another academy product is going to be integrated into the 1st team that's all and it's added further proof that all our hard work we've put into the academy over the last decade is coming to fruition, especially with pritchard as he has shown a lot of promise from a young age. I'm hopeful more than excited, we've all seen dozens of youngsters, for various reasons few establish themselves. I'd be delighted if Pritchard becomes a star but he has to take an enormous leap, let's not build our hopes up.

Great news about Pritchard and even better news about Adebayor, although I won't get too excited until he has officially gone. It says a lot about him (and possibly me) that I can't think of a single realistic incoming transfer that would please me as much as getting that waster out of the door.

I would agree if he was 18. But he is 22 now.

Did Jasper ever say anything else about the possible surprise Argentinian he said we were looking at (Update No.52)?

Going from in the discussion for Championship Player of the Year to a squad player in the Prem isn't so gargantuan of a leap as you may be proposing. I don't think anyone's saying he'll be a world beater immediately, but I do think he'll do relatively well as he's very compatible with the current system. We're not talking about a random youth player being promoted, we're talking about a kid with some good experience under his belt, years of experience with many of our current first teamers, and now great confidence after having a fantastic season in the increasingly competitive Championship. As long as no one expects him to bring the Prem to its knees, I think the excitement about this kid is warranted and realistic.

Regarding The Goat's (131), Trix's (132), Grey Fox's (133) and Ali Z's (137) ITK, I really really hope Villa can persuade Adebayor to go to them. Could be off base here, but I feel an undercurrent of something really exciting being possible if we can shift him (especially considering The Goat's snippet that a deal would be wrapped up quickly if Ade and Stambouli (y) both leave)- in addition to shifting Chiriches and Lennon (potentially Carroll, Fredericks, etc.)

I'm not sure it actually matters if Adebayor goes or not to be honest. He's clearly not going to be involved and has been asked to stay away. Obviously it's preferable to get him off the wage bill etc. but he's not going to be causing us any trouble otherwise if he stays, and I expect we'll replace him regardless.

I agree his absence doesn't matter to training or the match day squad either way, but I think it would be a big relief off the wage bill and could open up some avenues that may not be available to us otherwise.

Without doubt, but in reality we're not going to be signing anyone who wants mega bucks wages, and I'd expect we'd be able to cover the wages of any of our targets already. He will hardly command much of a fee, so I really don't think it matters all that much.

So Poch will disregard everything he's seen in preseason? It's not as simple as that.

He'll pick what he thinks is the team which will get a result, which none of us know since we don't get to see what happens on the training ground.

Spot on, Mason didn't really emerge until preseason last year.
