If people want an amusing evening, I'd suggest heading over to Knees up Mother Brown and checking tonight's match thread. After the celebration of getting to Europe and saying how they're a big team on the way up again, people already saying they don't want to be involved because 'of all the cheating Europeans'. Nothing to do with the fact they're currently losing to the third best team in Malta. Oh, and don't forget, They obviously have a better squad than us too...

This may be blasphemous for a Spurs fan but I have a bad feeling West Ham will finish above us this season. I really could see them taking 5th this year...they were on there way to that until their front line got decimated by injuries, now they have some better players and most of all a better manager.

Hahaha absolutely no chance. Europa league will decimate them and their squad is absolute trash with a few decent players littered in. Jesus christ.

With all the upheaval and a Europa cup campaign to deal with I'd say they'll be closer to a relegation battle than a top 5 finish

Ironically many people pegged Southampton for relegation at the start of last season.

They may not finish 5th, but personally I think they will finish above us. I'm not convinced by our transfer window and general play under Poch so far. I'm happy for the boys to prove me completely wrong.

That's like them saying "You seriously believe we can't finish above a team with Soldado in it?"
Is it, though?

James Collins PL minutes in 2015: 1121
Roberto Soldado PL minutes in 2015: 222.

While Soldado looks marginalised and on his way, Collins played in their July cup final.

They have sold the guy who made the most assists for their team (double the amount of the player with 2nd most) and who was 2nd top goal scorer last season and have a manager who's style/tactics are very different to the previous managers. This will very much be a transitional season for them and I predict they will finish between 10th and 12th.

Is that 2014/2015 or just 2015? Either way, I think their recent signing of Ogbonna and emergence of Reece Oxford will put quite a damper on Collins' minutes.

Downing is a loss but if they don't have another freak injury crisis like last season then you can argue that they get a lot more out of those players getting more games than they lose out of Downing's departure, if you get what I'm say.

Europe is going to heavily fuck with them and Southampton. Hell Europa is already fucking with West Ham as is.

Both teams suffer from a severe lack of depth and the extra games will mean tired legs and potentially more injuries which could nerf their seasons.

We see it every single year, teams playing in Europe take a hit while whose without jump up the standings. It's not rocket surgery to understand why.

This year I think we see Swansea unseat Southampton as the team punching way above their weight. Although I'm biased as Swansea is my second team.

Couldn't decide between brain surgery and rocket science? Fuck, I want to be a rocket surgeon! Sounds awesome.

West Ham scraped past a minnow team in the Europa League......I don't think we will have to worry about them in the premier league.
