Poor old Bent. 25 goals for us in two seasons is ok in my book considering he was competing with Berba, Keane, Pav and Defoe for large parts of his time with us.

Just another victim of Harry's "I don't like the cut of his jib" style of management. At least our current manager seems to neglect players for legitimate reasons I spose.

I trust the new scouting setup to choose the right players, don't buy into this "proven PL experience" myth, as per Andy Carroll, Torres, Lambert, Balotelli, Robbie Keane and many more besides.....

Ade still "leaving" eh?

He's like the last house guest at the party. You sobered up two hours ago, all the interesting people have left and ever since you've been trying desperately to move him closer to the door, yawning none too subtly in his face, urging him to finish his dull anecdote and leave. He's put on his coat and taken it off six times. He's sat back down on the couch yet again as he realises yet another aspect of his life he hasn't quite bored the shit out of you with yet. For the twenty-sixth time you stretch and say "Early start in the morning...", and now we're at the point where the vacuum cleaner is coming out.

Ade, please. It's been good having you. I hope you've had a nice time. But we need to get on. Please. We're asking nicely. Will you just fuck off.

Ade is currently sitting in Dim T restaurant in Hampstead. My mate is sitting 2 tables away from him. Told him to take a pic and ask if he's going Villa but Ade is with his family and my mates too embarrassed. Hopefully he'll get a chance to ask him by the end of the night.

Well that has to be a good sign if he's sat in a restaurant named after Sherwood.

Close analogy, but he's more like a strippogram stuck at the party, and you're obliged to fill his g-string with cash every 5 minutes whether he dances or not. Everybody wants him gone, but as long as his thongs filling with cash he's in no hurry to leave.

If the "magnificent 7" from 2 years ago taught us anything it's that signing players with no EPL experience is a lottery.

Berahino is young, a completely different option to Kane, and showed last year he can perform in the EPL. If he is behind targets like Werner then personally I don't understand it. If we are able to - sign him up now!
Signing players is a bit of a lottery full stop. We signed Bent, Bentley, Dempsey, Sigurdsson and Dembele and you could say most of those weren't particularly successful if not outright flops. If anything I would say our best signings have been from abroad such as Modric and Berbatov

Make sure yore mate gets a photo of Ade, with the restaurant name in view. It'll look good in the tabloids when Ade throws his first villa hissy fit!

Next time you / your mate meet Ade, could you/your mate pretend to him that you're a Villa fan and tell Ade that you're looking forward to see him lead the villa attack next season. :D

I will say Jenas was only decent against the Goons! The only time I looked forward to seeing him on the pitch and not shying away!

Jeans usually raised his game and played well and scored some important goals vs arsenal but he had a 4/5 year spell with us where he was at least decent , it was just frustrating that he had the potential to be more than just decent
