If you check the Spurs Go app they usually release interviews before they invite you to watch it on Twitter, FB. The Alderwerield interview came out before the official announcement

If we can't get our preferred choice at CM then isn't it better to not sign anyone?

Bloating the squad with average players is exactly what we are trying to avoid is it not?

Maybe not but we are desperately short in there. We may not be able to buy our first choice but there much be cm if good quality we can buy. Eg is there someone out there better than Mason

It depends right?
Ideally we need a first 11 first name on team sheet type CM (Bender/Kramer type). If that fails to materialise I'd still take a Cambiasso type signing on a 1 year deal to help guide the kids and give us a wise head to see out games. Bit like United and Schweinsteiger although obviously he'd hold his own and a still a class above for an older guy.
I'd then still probably take a Rabiot of this world if he became available. So we could still raise the level of the squad in a number of ways if we can't sign our top target - i really can't see us bloating the squad with average additions though - all the outgoings help backup that viewpoint

I think that Austin thing from Gards may have just been his opinion as someone suggested we should get him.

End of day if we have DM targets and don't get one then we wait till we get one. Use youngsters if necessarry. Better than buying another stop gap stambouli. This is not a 1 season fix. Long game. Stop making the same knee jerk mistakes. Building.

I'd say that we were unable to acquire our targets. A totally different tone to your "tantrum -throwing"! Everything can be construed in a positive way even bad news. Suggests that there is a way forward such as trying again next time!
