I do think Illaramendi could be someone we target late.

Not sure how well he'd fit what we want to do though.

It's becoming increasingly obvious we won't sign a CM

Mike give it a rest mate. All that's happened is a few expensive targets for an extremely difficult position to get right haven't materialised. Posts like this are just depressing pessimism and aren't really grounded in anything. All the ITK remains positive and is just geared towards forwards right now because those deals seem further down the line. Once Berahino/N'Jie/Whoever is done in hopefully the next week or so I'm sure there'll be news on a potential incoming at CM.

It is interesting that ITKs stated a new name who cannot be named, as the DM that the club is now pursuing.
It is interesting that the Club seemingly ended interest in James McCarthy (where he then went on to sign an improved
contract with Everton. This also after Morgan Schneiderlin left MoPo disappointed), coincide with MoPo starting to experiment with Dier in DM - At least around the same time frame.

If my assessment on MoPo is correct, to play Dier in DM even if one Specialist DM comes in this transfer window, tells alot.
It will tell whether the new DM is who he wants, or who the committee wants......From the Stambouli episode, MoPo showed
his stubbornness in not playing Stambouli......why? Coz Stambouli wasn't who MoPo's wanted (As alluded by ITK). I think if the new DM comes in and he continues to be stubborn and continue to experiment with Dier at DM....it will just confirm what i think. There is also a chance that no new DM comes in, coz MoPo rather play the players who he has now, rather than one that he does not fancy.

I don't see how signing no CM at all can be incompetent, it tells me that Poch is happy enough with what he has got to the point that he would rather have no one than somebody like Stambouli if we can't get a top target

Got a feeling after N'jie and Berahino we will see a last minute attempt from us for Bender and that'll be that.

CM from ITK and poch quotes doesn't seem to be the priority it should be.

Perhaps a feeling we have the right personnel? Ridiculous if so

With N'Jie and Berahino it will be only be a decent window at best. To make it a great window it needs a CM to round it off.

It just seems silly to strengthen everywhere but one position if we have the money as it would seem like a real missed opportunity.

We will definitely be strengthen the midfield area there is no way we will continue with bentaleb and dier for too long. We need some experience in there big time, with Ali and mason only, as back up

At this stage there are still numerous options that we might purchase for the DM role. Illarramendi, Kramar, Bender or plenty of others haven't moved and may not but without inside knowledge we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Read Trix's comments on how things work towards the end of the window and the obvious fact we need a DM and plenty can still happen yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with Illarramendi (last minute.com)...coz I don't think Kramer will come, not sure with Bender as well.

He said we would be happy at end of window. IMO that would include a DM. I believe we are looking to buy a DM, no guarantee we will get one but certainly no guarantee we won't I just don't see how you can be so sure we won't get one, it is just your negative thinking.
