If you're gonna be sarcastic & pedantic (I assume thats the case) then I'll bite and say we started with 3 strikers as adebayor didnt get a shirt number. Realistically we started with 1 anyway. Soldado off on his holibobs doesnt count and Coulthirst was never in the first team plans.

This chat does belong here as another ITK has said he'll sign again this week. The hold up must be the ink bill for the printer with the number of contracts that must have been signed already

Then discuss the signing of berahino not how many strikers we had at the start of the season.

Seems that we are trying to get a young squad that will peak in time for the new stadium. Berahino being one. Hope we can sort it out.

but the fact we have one striker is exactly why signing Berahino is so important. Its hard to have one or the other topic in isolation really.

Anyway, I really hope the defensive midfielder we go for (difficult or not) is Bender. We keep being told how our squad and starting XI is the youngest in the league etc but we need someone with bollocks and experience in the middle. A Scott Parker/Edgar Davids type signing is what this group need. We have no leaders and no grit and until thats rectified, no signing will transform us unfortunately.

We have by all accounts signed njie. And are still looking to bring one more most probably berahino in aswell.
So what are you having a hissy about? Maybe having a striker on the bench yesterday might have made a difference maybe not. Maybe if kane had got a third or our defence didn't make mistakes we would have won maybe not.
You moaning about it certainly wont change the reslut. Berahino will come or he wont, we will get a striker or we wont. Nothing you or i do will make the slightest bit of difference. If you want to have a moan about our transfer policy go ahead there are numerous threads in spurs chat. If you can't find one start one. I will even come over and debate with you. But leave this thread for itk.
I sidetrack this thread myself sometimes. But that is more forgetting which thread it is (or i'm pissed).

Actually we had itk saying it was west brom waiting to see if city made a bid rather than berahino. They are in no rush. It's down to us how much we want him and how long we are prepared to wait.
Everyone says that we should get the players the manager wants. Well sometimes that means the deals take time.

ITK says to expect two more. JJ says that we'll be happy with the incomings - but that was before the latest news about matters being difficult with Betahino. So where does that leave us? Does JJ still think we'll be happy?

The mood on here has generally been positive - apart from the N'Jie meltdown when it looked as if he might not be joining us.

But why all that positivity? We've sold a bunch of players that the coach doesn't like. We've brought in a few players that certainly wouldn't be starters on teams such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd or Man City. Are we or are we not striving for a place in the top four? If we are then we need to bring in ace-terrific players that will be sure-fire starters. Alderweireld fits that for Spurs - but is he that good? I'm not sure that we have the cash resources of these other top-flight teams but surely we could push out the boat for one or two 'great' or 'about to be great' players? Bring in fewer but pay them more.

I like Berahino but if WBA are playing it tough on the fee then let's look at an alternative. But not a cheaper alternative necessarily. Maybe someone better with greater upside that may or may not cost more. Quality and not quantity should be the watchword.

I'd love to see us bring in quality additions. The major clubs have brought in major additions already. The not-so major clubs have done so too. Why can't Spurs do the same?

This last-minute stuff most likely means a slow start to the season. That last game vs Stoke could mean the difference between success and failure at the end of the season.

Evidently Club management likes Pochettino. If that's the case then the Club needs to support him. Sooner rather than later.
