I think the last thing we needed was to add a load of kids from all over the world this summer. We've got a young squad, Poch is clearly looking to add some players who know the league while the the reshape continues.
Having said that N'Jie is clearly a new scouting network signing. Let's see how he does...
Not kids. I'm old fashioned (or just old maybe!) I still think of anyone under 25 as young, and at least 2 of those guys are that sort of age.
Age is a red herring though, it's surely all about the qualities of the player. That's ultimately what matters. Find a player who does what you are lacking.
E.G. What player can we bring in with pace and trickery who is used to playing off the right of a front three, left footed?
E.G. What player can we bring in who has good feet, can hold it up and would be happy to challenge Kane, wants to play in EPL. Hungry to prove he can.
We're not a Chelsea/City. We can't answer these questions with players that require top dollar, so why not do what many others do and reduce the fee drastically for 1-2 players by adding some risk.
If it works out, we win. If it doesn't, we do what we did with Holtby.
I take your point with N'Jie though, looking forward to seeing what he's about.
