It is a good point because we got 3 last weekend at watford. Thats 4 out of two games away from home.

We are 6 points behind Arsenal with a better goal difference and a better schedule coming up. We also play them at home.

We have 18 finals coming up. Looking at the way we are playing, we have a chance

I didn't say he's 'no better than Townsend'. I said I was worried about him, and that I'm unsure as to which incarnation of Son is the real one. I think I'm justified in raising doubts about his recent performances. He's an attacking player who can't keep the ball and consistently makes poor decisions in the final third. He scored last week and has shown signs of being a good player, but that, and his lack of experience in the league, doesn't excuse him from balanced criticism.

Sounds a lot like Lamela when he first came here.

Kane could barely walk, let alone run last 15, def need someone to come in and take the pressure off him, poor fucker.

I agree but there's no one to come on for Lukaku or half a dozen other strikers in the comp. It's not an excuse.

He is our player, so we must close our eyes and act like retards apparently, ignoring the truth which is he will never be any better than a championship level player at best...
That's exactly what you're doing though. :D

Was really disappointed in our subs today. Taking Eriksen off was a bizarre decision as he was playing well and he has the composure to keep the ball. Son was very poor when he came on, kept losing the ball when he needed to hold it. Chadli looked yards of the pace and added nothing. This is in contrast to the impact the Everton subs had, fresh legs that added impetus to their attack.

Despite the above I still think we put in a good away performance and deserved to win, which makes our substitutions all the more frustrating

I can't think of one match where we've been outplayed this season, not getting top 4 this season would be very disappointing

I felt we were fantastic first half in terms of control and said to my mate at half time that this was the best I had seen Spurs play.

Second half we were tired I felt, the subs were not the best.
Exactly what I said to my dad during the Arsenal match. I've never seen a Spurs team that is so in control and composed. To think that most of these lads are under 25 is mind-boggling.

I have nothing against Walker but would love to see Tripps have a run in the side. We've proved through Toby's direct balls that we have alternative ways to score goals as opposed to just creating them through the middle and I think Tripps's crossing ability is another useful option, especially in games such as these where our midfield tires out towards the end.

It's just so frustrating to see Walker go all the way up there and opts to play the short pass into the centre or back. I don't mind him not taking his man, but fucking cross it when there's a chance to.

Carroll played well today, simple as that.

Anyone who's suggesting he was poor or labelling him as 'the problem' just don't have a clue I'm afraid. Fuck all point in engaging with them either.
To try to balance it out, I thought Carroll was 98% pretty good and 2% shocking, the 2% unfortunately being in potentially critical situations that people really notice. The header that went straight to Besic was textbook what-not-to-do and could have cost us badly, and he was a bit too often a fraction late into press/challenges for my liking. But there is definitely a PL player there.

I thought Besic was outstanding after he came on. Proper tenacious semi-dirty fecker who could cause us problems with his passing too. Helped them immensely in the final half hour and more influential than Deulofeu was, although you can tell that Deulofeu and Lukaku have a very special kind of understanding.

How we did not kill the game in the first half I don't know, but during those final five minutes I was just willing the ref to blow for time. 10/12 since Newcastle is an excellent return.

Besic is an excellent player. I still rue that Hamburg let him go for disciplinary issues, as he is a very complete defensive mid IMO. Perfect balance of athleticism coupled with playmaking ability. I agree with you as well, I thought his substitution made a more than prominent difference on the game. Martinez, between the two coaches, easily won the tactical battle of sub impact.

In fairness, that can be put down to not quite being up to speed physically - he's mentally very sharp though so will get there if we persevere with him.

I thought he looked good at the World Cup and was surprised Everton paid so little for him.

He is 23 though, he will always be slight and his detractors will always use that against him unless he suddenly turns into Modric reincarnate. But I agree that he is sharp enough mentally for the PL.

Yup, and just think what ratio Lamella was last few seasons. Why are we so patient with a Lamella but not with a Caroll? Just don't understand

I hope he does. Mixes things up and keeps the oppo asking questions.

But yes, much as I hate it, invertedis their "best" shape.
The AM3 is very fluid as well - left, centre, right are defensive rather than attacking positions/concepts.
