REFEREE: --- ----- Michael Oliver ???????

TEAM FORM: ------ Everton - LLLDD ------ Spurs - LLWDL --------
(All Competitons)

Both Everton and we will be looking to give our hopes of finishing in top four a boost when we meet at Goodison Park in the Premier League this Friday night. Everton are currently eighth in the table, seven points behind fourth-placed West Ham United, while we occupy seventh position, six points off the Champions League positions.

For long stages of the season, Everton have been very much in the argument for a possible top-four finish, but a disappointing run of form at the worst possible time has seen the Toffees lose precious ground. A run of four games without a victory in the league - picking up just two points in the process - has left them down in eighth position, seven points behind fourth-placed West Ham, albeit with a game in hand. Carlo Ancelotti’s side suffered back-to-back defeats to Chelsea and Burnley towards the start of March and have been frustratingly held by Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion in their last two encounters.

The Merseyside giants will view their next two games against us and Arsenal as vital to their chances of claiming a European position, and a top-four finish could be possible if they manage to pick up maximum points from their two fixtures with both us the only North London Giant, and Arsenal. Everton have lost seven of their 15 league games at Goodison Park this term, but they have already beaten us twice this season - once in the Premier League and once in the FA Cup.

We meanwhile, have only won one of our last four in the Premier League and will enter this match off the back of a 3-1 defeat to to Manchester United on Sunday. We took the lead against the Red Devils through Son, but an impressive second-half performance from the 20-time English champions saw them emerge victorious. We will face Manchester City in the EFL Cup final on April 25, but we were disappointingly knocked out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb last month, and there is huge pressure on us to claim a Champions League spot for the 2021-22 campaign.

As mentioned, we are currently seventh in the table, six points behind fourth-placed West Ham, but we do not have a game in hand on the Hammers and would drop down to eighth if we lose this match. We have only won one of our last five matches in all competitions with Everton, while we have dropped points in nine of our 16 away league matches this term.

Head to Head

Between 6th February 1904 and 10 Feb 2021, we have played each other 181 times where we have won 68, they have won 57 and 56 have been draws. This includes 11 FA Cup ties where they have 6 and us 5. We have only played them once in a League Cup tie, where we won. 2 times in the Super cup, February and March 1986. And the rest in the First Division / Premier League. We have never played them in any competitive European match.

Team News

Everton's injury situation could ease on Friday night with Allan, Gomes, Calvert Lewin and Pickfordall in contention to make their returns, at least to the squad. Calvert-Lewin missed out against Brighton due to an abductor problem, but the England international should be available here, while Pickford could make his return between the sticks. Bernard, Gbamin, Delph and Doucoure are still injured, though, while Mina is now facing "a few weeks" on the sidelines with an adductor issue. Ancelotti will have to make a late check on Allan, but the Brazilian could return in the middle of the park, with Holgate dropping back into defence as a replacement for Mina.

As for us, full-backs Davies and Doherty are both still unavailable for selection through injury, but we did not suffer any fresh problems against Man United last time out. Mourinho could decide to make changes on Friday with Toby and either Sissoko or Lamela in line for recalls to the starting Line up, with Lo Celso and Dier potentially dropping out of the starting XI. Son and Kane are certain starters in the final third, while Moura should again get the nod in a forward area, with Bale likely to be on the bench once again.

DCL out should save us at least one headed goal from a cross or set piece but even then can't say I have any clue what sort of performance we'll be putting in tomorrow.

In fact I'd forgotten it was even the Friday game until just now which speaks volumes for me!

Everton - LLLDD
Spurs - LLWDL
...has the hallmarks of a classic in store
I did notice this when doing the post. Ten games we and Everton have been involved in and yet there has only been one win! Both woeful form!

I predict we will go 1 nil up in the first 15 mins. Then we grab a second ten minutes later.
Then at the stroke of half-time, one of our defenders makes a horrendous mistake to either give away a penalty or gift them a goal.

On the 63rd min, against the run of play, we carve out a brilliant chance that either hits the post, or is completely bollocked-up or the goalie makes the best save of their life.

Second half, they draw level by the 65th min. About 2 mins after Sissoko comes on.

Then they score a third on the 87th minute.

We sub on Bale at min 88.

We play our socks off for six minutes, and the game finishes with PEH taking a shot from 40 yards out, that goes over the top of the stadium.

Now, what will be different this time, is that Son finally loses his shit completely and goes on a killing rampage in our dressing room.

Yet, he still comes out afterwards, covered head-to-toe in blood and gives an interview smiling ear-to-ear.

Don't worry, Siggy will score a 30-yard screamer instead :)

Don't think I can watch any more, but then again I've been saying that for months and watched every minute. It's like a fucking black hole I can't escape from.

The battle of two legendary managers whose best years seem to be behind them. Anyway pretty sure this won’t be a repeat of the 5-4 FA Cup game and won’t be one for the naturals. Two mid table teams in awful form. Going for a score draw.

Same, I should have stopped months ago, but first 100% stopped like 3 or 4 games ago.

It's even Friday, surely there must be something else to do than watch Spurs at the moment ;) It will just ruin your weekend..

Can't remember the last time we had a Friday evening game that wasn't over a Bank Holiday, or the Christmas period.
