He feels a bit like this transfer window's Rasiak.

i.e. not first choice by any means, but one we could probably tie up as and when we want if we can't find anyone else.

Definitely a bit further down our selection but i see this one in a similar way to the Dembele link @ Fulham - Young, not top level proven but with potential. Not sure either would be needed if we add one of our top choices though.

He's a young player with probably more potential than Berahino (he's 2 years younger than SB remember).

Media report that Wolves have turned down £12-14m from Norwich, so wouldn't come cheap...

I sent a text about him to a Wolves fan I know just before Xmas - his response, "you can have him - he's not one of our own". Whatever that means - I reckon they don't absolutely rate him.

On another level, I cannot see anyone coming to Spurs thinking they are going to displace Kane at the moment. Any top striker will want to be top dog surely? A competent striker with size and pace is probably what we need as a good match by match and overall squad back up. Someone who can add a slightly different dimension but also play by himself or part of a pair when needed.

I reckon this just about sums Afobe up. All this number 10 talk i'm not seeing(based on a few recent matches i've seen Wolves play). He's only an option for a reaally modest fee.

So, theoretically, Berahino for £17-20m, or Afobe for £14m ish, or Dembele for whatever his contract situation dictates..... Thoughts???

Afobe and Iturbe ain't a bad window for a club like Bournemouth. Especially for a January window, too.

Have you seen much of Afobe, Snarf?

I only ask because I'm wondering how likely it is that, in a month or two, we'll have people on here saying "why the fuck didn't useless Levy buy him?" :cautious:

I really don't think a guy like him is right for us. He's raw as hell and needs to play regularly to improve. Not just the odd cup game and if Harry needs a rest. Conversely of Harry was out longterm I don't think he's good enough to play the style of football we try to play.

No he isnt. Hes older than berahino... and couldnt lace his boots

He is a championship striker at best

Love that quote.

It was only a couple of years ago people were saying the same about Kane.

He's young and performing well in the championship. You maybe right but only time will tell how far he can go.
