I don't like to talk us up in any way and whilst in my head I might think we're in with a shout - those words won't leave my mouth in fear of jinxing it.
I worry about these articles. Im a very pessimistic guy, but having supported spurs for 34 years, i dont think my pessimism is misplaced. Seen this time and time again about how we are bigged up like this, and we as fans buy into the bigging up and hence raise our level of expectations, only to come down with a thud in march and april. Seen it before, many times.
A lot of people will say this time its different, that our team is better now, is fitter now etc, but thats just the media doing its job on our mind, plus we forget that we said the same thing last season and the season before last.
Until we are still in the same strong position after playing all the big boys, my pessimism remains.
I hope im wrong. Dear God, please tell me my pessimism is wrong.
I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic. I don't like to talk us up in any way and whilst in my head I might think we're in with a shout - those words won't leave my mouth in fear of jinxing it.
These articles are written by the same people who will take great pleasure in telling us Spurs bottled it if everything goes tits up.
I preferred it when we were quietly going about our business unnoticed.
Nice read though
What about if i tell you we were 12 points above Arse with about 12 games to go 3 seasons ago only to yet again finish below them?I'm still looking at the 4th place situation, where we're 8pts clear
Since anything else (including a title-tilt) is a bonus, I'm not nervous at all
Just enjoy the ride
Now that youve said it in your post, its no longer in your head anymore now is it? Oh God you just jinxed it yourself

Yeah, apart from the scoreline, that was the most dominant we've been all season. Watford created exactly zero chances, and you don't see that often at this level. We're we that good against Watford? Didn't get to watch the match

This was also achieved by Wimmer slotting in well for Verts. We didn't lose any of our defensive disciplineYeah, apart from the scoreline, that was the most dominant we've been all season. Watford created exactly zero chances, and you don't see that often at this level.
A rare breed. Spurs supporters aren't usually synonymous with rationality!I don't believe in jinxes or superstition. When he have failed in the past, it has been due to cheating, bad refereeing or mistakes from our managers and players.
It has been nothing to do with newspapers or blogs writing positive articles about us.
