I think Wednesday and today have shown we're not a title winning team.

That's not really a criticism because we never expected them to be.

But I don't think it's going to happen this season.
I dont have a problem with this opinion except for how can Leicester be a title winning side and we not be? Thats something I cant come to terms with.

Fact of the matter is, nothing has really changed for weeks. We've had a great chance for top 4 for quite some time. We've had a decent chance for 2nd or 3rd for some time, too. And, for us to progress from 2nd to 1st, we've had to rely on the mess up of Leicester for a couple of weeks. All that hasn't changed. After a couple of less optimal results on a row, with 1 point over two matches, we are in the same general position. That's really quite remarkable.

Because it's likely that Leicester will win the league and we won't.

Was so gutted yesterday, have been flat ever since.

In terms of the title race, anything less than 6 points from the next two will most definitely end any slender hopes we have left.

I'm just thinking top four now and will be delighted if we can secure that top four finish, preferably third/higher. What a season its been and we have to be excited with our long term prospects, I genuinely believe we'll compete in and around the top for years to come now.

We need to remember Poch is rebuilding the Club with his style/identity and the fact that its clearly started transforming is a huge deal IMO.

Disappointing week all in all but we have to look at the wider picture. Win the next two and I think we're in a fantastic position to finish the season strongly.

The only worry I have now is fatigue, just hope we can manage the schedule.

It's really going to hurt not winning the title though mate to be honest, speaks volumes for how good we have been though that I would feel disappointed with anything but a title win.

I'm more concerned with what's going on just below us in the table than winning the League. It's not just about us, Arsenal and Leicester by any stretch and I'd be absolutely delighted to finish in the top 3 as things stand. A couple of results either way and things could look vastly different.

the reason Watford never sat back is they are not in trouble, Newcastle, Palace, and Sunderland will make it as difficult as possible, cause they need points
They are also much poorer teams so evens itself out. Leicester are better than every single team they play until the end of the season

If this was any normal season and we missed out on the title to say a rampant Mancity or United. etc (The usual big boys) then i could understand and accept it somehow but the thought of finishing above all of Arsenal, United, City, Liverpool and Chelsea but still not winning the league and losing out to Leicester bloody city is just about as Spursy as can get. Don't get me wrong i'm happy with us getting CL next season but priorities have changed during the season and i really can't accept us losing out on our best shot of the title ever to Leicester fucking city of all teams. Makes it even worse that we had the opportunity to take advantage against the hammerS. Long way to go still and i would hope we still have some fight left in us for the title.

Imperative we win next week and not just for the obvious three points, but restoring those confidence levels is a must for me.

Villa really are poor though and its pretty toxic up there in terms of support, understandably. Even with several changes we should have far too much for them. Its pretty much the perfect fixture to bounce back with.

Having not watched it, I'm surprised and a little angry to hear you say that Watford didn't sit back. Leicester are top because they're lethal on the counter and a hard working team that defend well. The way to combat that is to sit back and deny them space like Norwich did. Watford are not a team with enough quality to try and attack them.

It's little wonder they're top when teams still go at them expecting to match them and just play to Leicester's strengths. That's another reason they're top. At first they were an unknown quantity, and even now, teams are only just establishing a game plan to stop them, whilst we've been playing against parked buses all season.

They'll get a tough game at Old Trafford, then :)

Your premise is wrong Mullers, its not "and not us" it is "and not everyone else".
Leicester is full of experience, older players playing their best football but this really is their only chance to win the league, the stakes really are high for them, we will be better next season they won't and they know it.

If they are capable of being a title winning side then so are we.

Not sure I get you, I think this season we'll fall short because Leicester are looking as consistent as ever unless we can overturn the deficit of 5 points, it's very hard to envisage...but anyway we will see come the end of the season.

Starting from spammers at least, the remainder teams will give them a true run of money.. Manure, Everton and chelscum are our final 3 barrier helpers..

Next Sunday beat villa and we go 2pts behind Leicester who have there game rescheduled due to FA Cup, teams will drop points we just need to go into the Liverpool and man yoo games with momentum from knocking Dortmund out and 6pts from villa & Bournemouth. Stay positive folks none of us expected to be in this position just enjoy it

might of been answered, but they play Newcastle on the Monday night

Some people may laugh but seriously I think the FA need to drug test the Leicester players there is really something going on there. Kante recovered from a hamstring in 6 days, Vardy recovered from a surgery in 1 week and Mahrez seemed to pull his hamstring yesterday but kept going. There is something fishy going on there.

It's a mirakuru...

This might be our only chance to win the league too, experienced or not they dont have better players than us.

This reminds me of what I was wondering about Leicester. There's that old trope that teams essentially sticking to one distinctive style of play will always be 'found out'. Well, nineteen groups of elite coaching staff have had twenty-nine games to find Leicester out, so why haven't they? It's not as though they're fielding unplayables like Messi et al. Lads, it's Leicester.

I'm a bit puzzled by this.

I guess what I am saying is if a team with their resources and personel can perform consistantly then we are capable of doing the same and overturning their lead.
