Agree as well.
Judge has said he could get up to 10 years.
Ched Evans got 5 years for rape....
Johnson didn't even have sex with this girl.
It's a close one to call because with Johnson she was legally classed as a child, but it's not like it was a 5 yr old.

Up to 10 years will just be the most that legally he could receive.

The whole context will be taken into account so he wouldn't get the same sentence as if we were talking about a 5 year old.

Anyway. Little sympathy for this guy. A bit, though, because it does seem out of whack with other cases and that must be down to the notoriety of the case and to make an example of him etc, but making examples is not good justice i don't think.

Always dangerous to compare it to other cases as they are all so specific.

Clearly the length of the sentence here takes into account the length of time he was grooming her, the fact that he clearly knew what he was doing (over 800 texts!), tried to cover it up, initially pleaded not-guilty etc etc.

Hard to say whether 6 years is justified or not, but it's incredibly hard to feel any sympathy for the idiot.

I don't feel any sympathy for Johnson at all, but as has been said already, people get less than this for rape and violent crimes. I also think she played her part in what happened according to some reports.

Like I said the vagaries of sentencing are hard to fathom at times.

But perhaps we should be chastising the weak sentences for those other crimes rather than saying Johnson should get less.

As others have said he probably won't serve 6 anyway, unless of course he treats his time in there in much the same way he appears to have treated the trial.
