I dont understand the angle of his ex missus Stacey Flounders.

She looked beamingly happy on his guilty verdict. They are split up, and she took all he pictures down of him from Facebook. If thats the case why was she in court with him everyday and acting as a witness to his defence?

Think its the same with many footballer wives, while the papers keep coming they will stay beyond average dignity. Wayne rooneys mrs stuck by him after his granny affair, john terry's after he was fucking his team mates mrs... Way beyond normal dignity. All about the papers.

I would say it was the defence team trying to manage the situation, looks better for Johnson if his missus stands by him, shows she believes in his innocence etc. I would say she has done well out of this, basically "you act the doting girlfriend and you will be well rewarded". Even if she left him after, if he was found innocent, it would not have mattered as he would have got off.

Prosecution say should be minimum 5 years.

Me too. I'm assuming that he really pissed off the judge by not taking the trial process seriously.

Isn't the issue that it was very clear that he knew exactly what he was doing? I find it very hard to know what is an apt or harsh sentence to be honest, but I suspect the fact that Johnson knew what he was doing, and seemed to know for a while in advance, would probably count against him.

Mind you the prosecution are always likely to state a high sentence so not sure how likely 5 years is.
