It's almost like spending a load of money doesn't guarantee success.Yeah, I thought they'd bought their way out of trouble but they've been awful so far.
Especially in January when players get no time to bed in.

You could argue other clubs like Stoke have built up a "stepping stone" model, but haven't failed as fantastically as Newcastle. It goes further than that. Ashley gambled that Newcastle would comfortably be able to retain their PL status whilst he made serious money out of player trading. Since Newcastle's better players aren't expecting to be at the club for more than a couple of seasons, there's never going to be any chance of establishing a strong core to the squad. (Now that they're facing almost certain relegation, and as the players' contracts don't include any relegation clauses, Ashley's gamble is looking particularly reckless.)
You're right, of course, but Newcastle just seem to have gone too far with this approach, whereas the core of the Stoke team seems to have survived. You could argue other clubs like Stoke have built up a "stepping stone" model, but haven't failed as fantastically as Newcastle.
As role models go, they've had even worse ones in the past. Remember Freddie Shepherd when he was their chairman? As the Guardian website explains,Ashley has been a total disaster for Newcastle. He is the model of how not to do it. I like the Geordies. They deserve better.
They don't even play in the same position. Sissoko has spent all season at RM and sometimes at AMSissoko would be a decent buy as backup for Dembele next season.
Sissoko is utter shite bar about 3 games every season.Sissoko would be a decent buy as backup for Dembele next season.
I have zero interest in Newcastle. They don't prevoke anything in me.
At all.
That win will do their confidence the world of good.Enough interest to open this thread and post in it. Newcastle 1 - 0 Riggi
And they're fat bastards tooI'm looking forward to seeing them drop down into Hades, their fans have such an air of entitlement about them.
