Problem is, Tim still thinks its mostly down to him.
Cue the 'Fuck off Sherwood' bunch!
Tim was good for us, introduced young players who are benefitting us today. Good luck to him.
rump, or its synonym, being the operative word.I have to say (and said it before) that I've never understood why Sherwood is so despised by such a large rump of people on here.
So who, apart from Harry Kane, would you say is a Sherwood player who is benefitting us today?
I don't despise the bloke but just think he thought he was Billy Big Bollocks (saying he wanted to be in charge of the whole chebang) when he should have stayed doing what he was good at, i.e. development coach. Some of his team selections and tactics were shocking.
Mason, carroll, bentaleb, pritchard, onomah.
Read mcdermots interview at the university he had good things to say about him. The players from the academy also had good things to say about him.
He didn't get on with avb or baldini and fell out with hoddle due to his treatment of sheringham.
@rupsmith
I agree with your comments, and thanks for the research, but why would we now want to sign LVG? Poch is here, doing very well and is apparantly in the process of negotiating a new contract. In addition the players seem to respect him very highly and he has gelled them into a real team to the extent that there is real synergy; even Townsend didn't want to leave! By all accounts Poch wanted a "project" and he has it with Spurs, I can't see him going anywhere in a hurry!
The future is bright, the future is Tottenham, COYS!
How much have they helped currently? Not much.
So let me get this right - from the 'disagrees' to my post above, Mason Carroll, Bentaleb, Pritchard and Onomah have are currently helping us. Bentaleb doesn't play, Mason and Carroll get occasional sub roles, Onomah doesn't feature and Pritchard is at West Brom. I'd say not helping us 'much' is fairly accurate.
