Chelsea Vs Tottenham: Match Thread

A few matches into the season, I thought we lacked real commitment, to the point where I thought that I actually considered after 25 years we would just always be a second tier club. That the tears joy from seeing Crouchy secure fourth place, the emotions from hearing the CL tune play out in the qualifications and the elation from seeing Lennon score against Milan was as good as it was gonna get - which at the time made these 25 years worth it, but that maybe, just maybe, I should not invest as much time in watching, reading and discussing Spurs.

However, since then - unbelievable. That I would watch a TEAM mature like this, with the class, dignity and electrifying football that has come with it, it has rendered me speechless.

The title may have been lost tonight - but I have never been more proud to say that this is my club, my one and only club.

Carragher said Spurs were losing it before half-time, but at half-time he said we've been excellent....why am I paying for this shit punditry?

We've had a great year and we'll learn from this experience and we have more potential than anyone else in this league. Can't fault our passion fans, players, and coach, love Poch.

I thought I hated chelsea before, but I had no idea, pure scum with no integrity.hate is not a strong enough word

My only hope now is that we stay ahead of arsenal, which we will.

I'm 42, supported since I was 5,dad's a supporter, BEST SEASON EVER.

Still not beaten them since 19

Think I agree but I can't get over the fact we still haven't beaten Chelsea at the bridge in our best season and there worst for donkeys.
If they'd played that way all season then Chelsea would not be where they are now. Nobody doubts the quality of their players or ability to play well. FFS Hazard woke up after a year long nap tonight!

I genuinely believe that if we can keep Poch and the core then we will surpass Chelsea next season as well.

We all have different views.

My view is that I totally support us losing the plot. For the first time in my life this season, and particularly tonight, I've seen a togetherness. You kick my mate I'll kick you attitude. It was unprofessional, but for me, totally warranted.

I love you Spurs

Kind of agree. I just don't want everyone to go about saying we're a dirty club because we are not. The steel and aggression we've added though is excellent to see and has won us games alone on that this season.

Jon Snow didnt get brought back from the dead for this.
I hope that's not a spoiler cause I haven't watched it yet.

Its quite funny to watch players like Hazard and Fabregas be so happy in denying a team winning the championship when there's have been so embarrassingly shit. They'll have some self reflection come summer and realise how pathetic that was, when they realise elite players compete for top honours not petulant little bragging rights.

Chelsea are a disgusting club with disgusting fans and disgusting players. I'm glad we didn't let them win by giving in to their disgusting tactics. We guaranteed ourselves third and a Champions League place at their disgusting ground. We may not have won the the title but we won so much more than they have tonight!

Chelsea players and fans should be ashamed of themselves for how pathetic they have been this season and worry less about the better teams in the league.

I think some of the aggression was right, but I wish we'd played our own game, sat a bit deeper and counter attacked for the last quarter. Anyway, Chelsea were always going to make sure Leicester won or drew on the last day of the season and we lost our chance when we drew with wba. Nearly secured top three with that draw tho... nearly there Spurs. One point needed for top three
.. three points preferred to beat arsenal to second.

Brilliant season. So much passion tonight. Yes we lost our heads a bit, but no one can accuse is of bring weak any longer. A couple of top notch signings and we will go very close to winning the league next year. Up the Spurs.
