The level of jealousy and spite from rival fans is a good sign IMO, so many Goons/Chelsea/scousers I know were more convinced we would win the league than I was! That is fear and respect my friends, and is as much proof as anything that we are becoming the real deal.

Best season I can remember hands down, automatic CL group stages was a pipe dream at the start of the season, if we can secure second above the Gooners that is a big cherry on top.

We have our Tottenham back, and better than ever (in the PL era). We have a young, hungry, passionate team that can play some beautiful football, and show as much pride for the shirt as any club around. I love this team.

P.S. Some trophies next season would be nice though, cheers.

After being too gutted for words to throw away that lead yesterday against those plastic vile humans it got me thinking...

Has it really been as good as we think this season??

Done the double over Man City including a 4-1.
Unbeaten to Arsenal in the league.
Unbeaten to Chelsea in the league.
Unbeaten to Liverpool in the league.
Ended a 14 year jinx at home to United 3-0.
Thrashing West Ham 4-1 at ours.
Thrashed Monaco 4-1 at ours.
Got revenge on Fiorentina beating them 3-0 at ours.
Was also the first English team to ever score in Fiorentina.
Gave Stoke their biggest ever defeat at the Brittania 4-0
Our longest unbeaten run in premier league.
Favourites to finish second in the league.
Best Goal difference in the premiership.
Dele Alli young player of the year.
Harry Kane joins an elite group of scoring twenty league goals two seasons running.
Favourite to finish above the scum.
Champions League football next season.
Mauricio Pochettino committing to another 5 years.
Hugo, Eriksen, Lamela, Vertonghen all on the verge of signing new contracts.
OF COURSE IT'S BEEN A BLOODY GOOD YEAR!!!!

It would've been the icing on the cake to end the Stamford Bridge hoodoo and also virtually have guaranteed 2nd with that win but hey lets leave just one more record to smash down next year.
Just hope we can hang on to 2nd and finish above the Goons finally.

Love this team, love Poch, love my club. COYS!

Also we only need to score one goal in our next two games to beat our highest ever Premier League goals scored figure (including when it was a 22 team division.)

Poch got us fighting for the title in only his second season in charge...? All our youngsters playing well. Lamela transformed. Fighting spirit and a great togetherness in the team. You cant ask for more than that. Regardless of losing out on the title to a fluke team...We have had a great season! We are ahead of the timeframe set out for our goals imo. And we are moving along with the new stadium, So I think its been a very positive season. Better than we could have imagined I think.

Leaving Leicesters season to one side for the moment, i think that the whole of the PL were taken very much aback by our team this season.

They were surprised by our style, fortitude and overall movement and high press. This was most evident in post match comments made by several managers, including those who could just about bring themselves to acknowledge that they had witnessed their side being played off the park. The inbred, manager neanderthals that were in denial of what had unfolded during the previous ninety minutes are in for a bigger shock next season as they see an even more improved Spurs side.

This season has been a huge learning curve for this set of youngsters, and an even bigger one for the other seventeen managers, most of whom witnessed their sides being completely and utterly demoralized by the relentless pace, energy, determination and skill of one fucking well oiled footballing machine.

Our time has yet to come in my humble opinion.

So to sum up this season has been one big, exciting mother fucking giant leap forward.

Good season if we come second. If we finish third below Arsenal now it won't be a good season.

This post got a lot of neg rep's, but sadly there is a little truth in it.

I don't agree with the statement of "it won't be a good season", if we finish below them, because third or anywhere in the top four is fantastic and I would of snatched your hand off for it at the start of the season....but;

Given the amazing season we have had, the fact that we are really looking like we are building something special and then the stick we have had from gooners and Chelsea fans the last few days....to finish above them would be oh so sweet and really cap off a quite brilliant season.

I really like the opening post and the rational part of my brain agrees wholeheartedly with the sentiments, but I'd be lying if I said that my perception of this season all now hinges on whether we finish above Arsenal or not. I know it's a churlish and unfair thing to say, but being completely honest my overriding emotional memory of this season will be bitter disappointment if we don't finish above Arsenal from here. Not saying it's right, but it's how I feel.
Quoting my own post from earlier in the week to confirm that the following isn't a knee-jerk reaction to today's result against Southampton, but we're getting closer to a position where the season could still be ruined for me. Why is it that even when Spurs perform well in the league they somehow find a way to make it all turn to ashes in your mouth? :(

COME ON FUCKING MAN CITY!

Of course it's been a good season. But we are ending it very poorly, which is going to leave a very sour taste in the mouth.

I think my disappointment will not come from finishing below the scum but from throwing away such a good position in the league, we shouldn't be finishing below second given the season we have had, it screams of bottle job.

Has been a good season but will be very disappointing to finish below the scum. If we get the players heads sorted out they surely are capable of beating Newcastle.

Good but deteriorating rapidly, finishing 3rd on 70 points would end up being par. If we beat Newcastle and secure 2nd then yes it will end up very good.

I said it in the other thread but if we lose twice to Newcastle in a season then we don't deserve to finish 2nd. They couldn't even beat Villa lol.

Definitely coming to the realisation that our season has been massively aided by many external factors as opposed to it solely being down to Poch's influence and the rise of several key players.

One half of me thinks we are the real deal and have turned a corner and will challenge next season for the title.

The other half of me wouldn't be all too surprised to find us back in 5th-6th next season, with old tendencies creeping back.

20 odd shots for us, 1 crucial one for newcastle, we lose, i pray not but the last 3 games show we cant finish off teams. We miss alli and dembele

It has been entertaining and that is the most important thing.
Beat Newcastle, and we'll have our record prem point total, CL qualification and finish above that other lot - that has to be considered good. All to play for.

I personally don't think it was as good a season as probably most do but that's because we have won nothing & yeah we have qualified for champions league football but personally I'd have rather done it by winning the Europa League than league position (unless first) in general thought we have played some very good football & we're lucky we now have a good defense because some of the goals Lloris has conceded have been absolutely awful & if he was Gomes most would want him shot but he seems immune to criticism alot of the time.
unless we win next week this season we still wouldn't have beaten AVB's points tally and that side finished 5th so I guess we have had luck on our side too with everyone else being shit this season.
main criticism is losing 20 points from winning positions with that changed next season we can consider ourselves title challengers.

Champion's League qualification = an above par season. So it's been a very good season. It feels unfairly disappointing because we were in the title race against a team we regard as our inferior and we blew it. If we finish below Arsenal it will definitely be a deflating end to the season.

To quote Jimmy's cliché, football is a funny game. Us Spurs fans regard this season as a triumph and we have heartedly laughed at the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd (whose fans have proclaimed their seasons a disaster) and yet if we lose to Newcastle and Arsenal and Utd win their remaining games, Arsenal finish above us and Utd just a single point behind us....
