After being too gutted for words to throw away that lead yesterday against those plastic vile humans it got me thinking...

Has it really been as good as we think this season??

Done the double over Man City including a 4-1.
Unbeaten to Arsenal in the league.
Unbeaten to Chelsea in the league.
Unbeaten to Liverpool in the league.
Ended a 14 year jinx at home to United 3-0.
Thrashing West Ham 4-1 at ours.
Thrashed Monaco 4-1 at ours.
Got revenge on Fiorentina beating them 3-0 at ours.
Was also the first English team to ever score in Fiorentina.
Gave Stoke their biggest ever defeat at the Brittania 4-0
Our longest unbeaten run in premier league.
Favourites to finish second in the league.
Best Goal difference in the premiership.
Dele Alli young player of the year.
Harry Kane joins an elite group of scoring twenty league goals two seasons running.
Favourite to finish above the scum.
Champions League football next season.
Mauricio Pochettino committing to another 5 years.
Hugo, Eriksen, Lamela, Vertonghen all on the verge of signing new contracts.
OF COURSE IT'S BEEN A BLOODY GOOD YEAR!!!!

It would've been the icing on the cake to end the Stamford Bridge hoodoo and also virtually have guaranteed 2nd with that win but hey lets leave just one more record to smash down next year.
Just hope we can hang on to 2nd and finish above the Goons finally.

Love this team, love Poch, love my club. COYS!

For a minute I was poised over my keyboard, ready to unleash a torrent of abuse towards the OP as I expected a "this season was not as good as we believe" post. Very pleased to be able to rein myself back in. :)

There is one thing that I hoped for, on top of finishing where we are, and that was a really good FA cup run. Seeing the teams that Crystal Palace have had to play and knowing that they are in the final, playing a poor Man Utd team........

Saying that, getting through the rounds could've affected our title push and I wouldn't have missed that for anything.

So, yes, a good year. A very good year. Great defence, great attack, emergence of Dier & Alli. Alderwerield coming in and being the best defender in the league. All the players finding form: Dembele, Rose, Lamela, Eriksen. Kane doing what he does best and proving the doubters wrong after the start to the season. Poch being the man he is (man love alert )

One of the best seasons that I can remember in 40yrs of supporting this magnificent team.

Its funny that we've not won anything or really come than close to but it's as you say been one of the best seasons in 40+ years of being a spurs fan so many positives and so many platforms to fill me with hope that this time can and WILL win MANY trophies. :)

it's been a season for the ages. a season, that grizzled supporters such as myself have been waiting for since 86/87. That was truly the last time we had a team that was capable of winning/challenging for the league title. This lot have developed at an accelerated rate, beyond our wildest expectations. Everything that has happened this year can only be construed in a positive light. We are young and will get better. We are on the CL, and on the verge of playing in one of the best stadiums in Europe. We have a manager being scouted by the likes of PSG, Real Madrid, Chelsea and UTD. Yet, he wants to stay and WIN with us.

This isn't the end. This isn't, 'so close, yet so far'. This isn't, 'Spursy'. This is the dawn of a golden era at Tottenham Hotspur. So, while yesterday may have been hard to swallow. You should ask yourself this... if you awoke this morning, and had a choice between being a Spurs supporter or Chelsea... who would you choose? Which fans do you think feel more confident about the future right now?

Pretty easy to answer. Now... rewind to a year ago, and remember how you were feeling then. A question about our future compared to the $$$ giants in the PL, was egregious and hopeful at best. But now we know. Now we know. The future is something to bask in pride and hope. As we on the verge of greatness.

It annoys about the fans who see winning a trophy as pretty much the only thing to judge a good season by. Of course it's been an amazing season. The best for such a long long time and easily better in my mind than say the Carling Cup in 2008.

We didn't win anything this year but we shot for the biggest prize we could and did it in a truly remarkable and glorious way. We went down fighting and we'll go again next year. Premier League fear us.

To be honest if I woke up any morning I would rather support than Chelsea!

I have a feeling that this team is going to be the fulcrum of our most exciting period in our footballing history. I seriously feel that we have the makings and means necessary to make this club one of the best in Europe. With the stadium looking to be one of the finest in the uk, a world class training facility, arguably one of the best young managers in the game plying his trade at white hart lane and a squad full of bright young talent, not withstanding the promise that once the stadium is finished, the opportunity to attract some of the best talent.

I was not overly disappointed about Leicester winning. Our project is long term and has started to bear the fruits of the labour early. I am so excited for this new era of our club!

It's been a brilliant year, not just because we've been pulling off results but mostly because of our impressive performances.

I do find it interesting though that if we don't win one of our remaining two games, we wouldn't exceed our best points total (under AVB in 2012-13, when Bale was instrumental). We played such ponderous football that season and managed only to finish 5th. In addition, we won 21 games that season and can only match that if we win both our last games.

I think it does go to show how the much closer the league has been this season with more teams beating each other than ever before.

Can't wait for Champions' League football and to see who Levy, Pochettino and Mitchell conjure up for us this summer.

I really like the opening post and the rational part of my brain agrees wholeheartedly with the sentiments, but I'd be lying if I said that my perception of this season all now hinges on whether we finish above Arsenal or not. I know it's a churlish and unfair thing to say, but being completely honest my overriding emotional memory of this season will be bitter disappointment if we don't finish above Arsenal from here. Not saying it's right, but it's how I feel.

Its been a sensational season. Yes last night was disappointing, more than anything I just wanted us to beat those fucks never mind prolonging the inevitability of Leicester winning the title.

Congratulations to Leicester of course, but any other opposition fan who thinks the majority of Spurs fans are crying in their cornflakes are seriously misguided with the big picture completely alluding them, or its just denial.

I tell you what, and this was my answer to every opposition fan I've spoke to today who was teasing or laughing because of last night. I said I was fucking buzzing for next season and beyond, buzzing. We're here to stay and with Pochettino coming out and saying he will be extending his contract just reinforced the point.

No more laughing after that as its clear as night and day that Pochetttino has transformed the Club - the playing style/identity, the mentality, the whole ethos surrounding the Club. And they know it, hence why they're marveling in our falling short this year.

Bottom line is this, Pochetttino has overseen an exceptional rate of development so far and it hasn't been wholly dependent on throwing money at it. Outsiders can see that and it makes them nervous.

Make no mistake other Clubs are fearing Spurs and the future we have in front of us.

Since January 1st we have taken 35 points and Leicester have taken 38 points....so it all goes back to the game at the Lane in January which has defined the second part of our season and the two teams finishing where they have.

How good this season has been will depend on how we fare next season but one thing that will be nice is there is zilch prospect of our best players leaving.

Exactly why we have to get used to the hate. It's only just beginning.
