Must had been leaked from Gotze side.... apparently he told his national team mates that is when the news broke.

It's all good. I think most of us believed he was more likely to pick Dortmund and I'm perfectly ok with that.
My issue was always the idea from sections of our fanbase that we're not a big enough team to sign a player like him and I still maintain that's bullshit.
Equally there are more suggestions now that we weren't as strongly in the running for this as we might have thought. Maybe we enquired, had some conversations and then left it there rather than us actually being blown out.

Bild.de are reporting that they have reached an agreement, but not that the deal is finalised. I can't read the rest as you need a subscription. But it's defintely looking more likely that he will return to Dortmund. Depends what needs to be finished off I guess.

All the ITK lot said there was nothing to this. Only Bild were actually writing about it - with others using their story. Seems like an agent wanting to get a better deal and pushing the story.
It's a shame as I would love to see Gotze at Spurs but I'm pretty sure there never was anything in this. It was nice to believe though! I hope we get the rest of the necessary business done ASAP this summer and Levy can find a surprise VdV signing at the end of the window.

If we did genuinely had a chance in getting him and he was interested in us then this is disappointing news because we are in a phase were I do believe we can purchase these type of players. This would of been a major signing of intent. I got a feeling maybe Goetze was a tad too much in terms of wages.
I just hope we really take advantage of this transfer window simply because we are on major high with champions league football beckoning and the new stadium around the corner. The squad is also at its strongest its ever been.
I am sure Poch has alternatives and we will be happy with the outcome.
We already have Wanyama and Janssen (two very very good signings) and I believe we will make the right signing in an area were it is so important (Midfield).

Moderately surprised to see the loathing some BD supporters seem to have for Goetze. It approaches Sol levels. "Tunnelc*nt" is the nicest thing he gets called.

This is incorrect. Grey Fox has said that he heard information on it, and I believe Trix said that there was at least some interest shown.
Why the hell do people insist on constantly spreading this about ITK's when not one of them actually said that? They all said there was interest, FFS! This is like the umpteenth time someone here has said the same thing the last few days. Since when the hell did reading become so damn difficult for some of you?

(Actually, did miss the GF post in amongst the crap about the relative merits of Boufal and other players! Trying to let myself down easily as I would love to see Gotze or someone of similar quality signed, as much to show intent and ambition as anything else).
