i know i've mentioned it enough times now but there's such a stark contrast between onomah the cm and onomah the am. even just off the ball he works noticeably harder when playing deep, it's as though he recognises the responsibility and puts in more of a shift whereas when he's further forward he might press a defender but once it's past him he'll go into stroll mode. on the ball all of his best work is done in the central third of the field, there were a couple of runs in the 2nd half today where he got the ball deep, beat a player and then drove forward 50-60 yards to set up a good chance. playing him in the final third of the field just exposes all of his weaknesses and hides his biggest strengths, in fact i think i'd rather see him as a #4 than a #10/wide forward long-term. i think it'd benefit him to go on loan but poch seems to prefer keeping our better young players at the club, even if they're not going to play a great deal.

Looks like Edwards got a goal and an assist. Harrison also scored.

Our substitute stopper Tom Glover was largely a spectator in the closing moments as we pushed the Millers back and our control of the game told on 82 minutes when forward Shayon Harrison, on for Janssen and having gone close moments earlier, slotted home from close range after good work on the right side of the box by Edwards.

The latter capped things off three minutes from time by adding his own name to the scoresheet, impressively winning the ball back close to the byline, turning away from the nearest defender and firing high into the net from a tight angle.

Players named in report or in pics of Spurs pre-season win over Rotherham - Jannsen, Harrison, Edwards with goals

Janssen, Chadli, Trippier, Son, Wanyama, Harrison, Edwards, Mason, Glover.

so presumably a very similar squad to that which played the last friendly.

The first team squad fly to Australia tomorrow, whilst there is another development friendly on Saturday - so we might see who has been left in uk from that game.

Where do you think he could go on loan? Do you think Rangers with Warbuton would be a good loan move?

Apparently the first team squad are all raving about Edwards.
I've got a feeling he could make an impact this season. There's rumours we might sign another AM (outside Nkoudou), but I think we should wait until after pre-season.

i wouldn't like to say as i don't really know enough about their squad, or anyone's outside of spurs tbh. i know they signed rossiter though and whilst i don't think he's onomah level he is likely to get preferential treatment given he's actually their player. i've always thought chris hughton and brighton would be a good club to hook our youngsters up with but again i don't really know what their squad needs are. we seem to have a good relationship with tony mowbray but league 1 is probably a level below where we'd want him playing.

Good idea, though if an elite level AM was available would you want us to buy him? (Mata, Isco etc)

I wish that Roda affiliation was something we could explore. I think KWP or Winks turned them down because they play long balls and by pass the midfield.

An 'elite level AM' was available in Gotze- for a very good price, but Poch didn't want him- not the market/type of player we're looking at. I wouldn't want Mata under any circumstances anyway.

excuse me for a moment, but salivating at the prospect that in the fa cup/other cup we could realistically see edwards AND onomah line up in AM/CM respectively

We could but its highly unlikely as our squad is far too big at the moment
