Swapping Mason and Chadli for Sissoko isn't that bad.
When you put it like that
13 mill for Chadli
13 mill for Mason
5 mill for Yedlin
I'm awfully okay with that.
Swapping Mason and Chadli for Sissoko isn't that bad.
Pochettino is obviously so fucking haunted by memories of Moussa tearing us apart on the last day of the season, that he's willing to go to any lengths to make sure his team never has to face Sissoko again.
Can't believe we wouldn't have had a shot at Kovacic for 30m. Can't see Sissoko having the balls to push Dembele for a place and I'd sooner see what Harry Winks can do after watching him in pre season.
One good thing about all this - judging by the reaction of this place to the news, we can at least say that Spurs fans aren't moaning for no reason and the idea that people "just want money spent" or "just want names in" isn't actually true.
People are annoyed because we've not moved for names, or spent money, that would genuinely help improve the team, particularly the first 11. The reaction to the Sissoko news proves this - we aren't really moaning about net spend.
You've just got to hope that Poch has genuinely asked Levy to go balls-out for Sissoko because he desperately wants him, and not that we've just done it due to fan reaction/because we failed with Poch's first 67 choices and Sissoko was next on the list.
UPDATE
Still not home and we announce two deals and match bid for Sissoko
When he said that I actually think he meant up top and from midfield. We had no zero penetration against Liverpool in the transition to attack and at the defence.Poch wanted a direct mane type player. Maybe he wants him to play high up and over power defences like mane did to Arsenal?
Anyone else excited, uneasy, happy, annoyed?
