Pochettino is obviously so fucking haunted by memories of Moussa tearing us apart on the last day of the season, that he's willing to go to any lengths to make sure his team never has to face Sissoko again.

Well Newcastle got relegated.... we could just pull out of the deal last minute and leave him stuck in the Championship, we'd only have to face Sissoko in domestic cups and that's still a long shot.

Is that too devious, or is he really that haunted?

Can't believe we wouldn't have had a shot at Kovacic for 30m. Can't see Sissoko having the balls to push Dembele for a place and I'd sooner see what Harry Winks can do after watching him in pre season.

He won't play in central midfield though.

One good thing about all this - judging by the reaction of this place to the news, we can at least say that Spurs fans aren't moaning for no reason and the idea that people "just want money spent" or "just want names in" isn't actually true.

People are annoyed because we've not moved for names, or spent money, that would genuinely help improve the team, particularly the first 11. The reaction to the Sissoko news proves this - we aren't really moaning about net spend.

You've just got to hope that Poch has genuinely asked Levy to go balls-out for Sissoko because he desperately wants him, and not that we've just done it due to fan reaction/because we failed with Poch's first 67 choices and Sissoko was next on the list.

Mate everytime i see your posts i cant help but think you must look like your avatar

Could have got him for a lot less had we wanted him before the euros, seems like a bit of a panic buy to me, hopefully Poch can get the best out of him

Price may be steep .. but what transfers aren't these days. Footballing finance as gone mad.

As for the player? Inconsistent, but he is a game changer and can dominate teams. Few players these days can do that. Quick, Powerful, Box to box, something that we miss without dembele.

Adds depth to our squad for sure, and quality depth too.

There aren't many players of Sissoko's ilk that are proven and have been available this window. He'll carry the ball vertically up the pitch. I am very pleased from a footballing perspective.

As far as the money is concerned, we're in a different era to even two years ago. The numbers in this market are just mad. If we want to compete, we have to sometimes be a bit mad too. £30m for a very good squad player is a bit mental.

Don't forget also that this is presumably 30 mil over 5 years, so not a huge hit on a year to year basis. Given how much the market increases every year, this may not seem like silly money a year or two from now.

Poch wanted a direct mane type player. Maybe he wants him to play high up and over power defences like mane did to Arsenal?
When he said that I actually think he meant up top and from midfield. We had no zero penetration against Liverpool in the transition to attack and at the defence.

£30m bid for Sissoko made! Only think I'm thinking is do we see him as an alternative for a wide role? Or Dembele backup? Or like a mix of the two?

Let's face it, if you would have heard before the window we were going to be willing to pay 30m for Sissiko you would have said wtf. And you would be right, this is just crazy. I have to believe this is SSN BS to keep viewers until 11pm.

Ps I think I have now seen all off the new Bridget Jones movie
