This whole flyer issue seems completely ridiculous. Yes, the chant was dumb and juvenile but does it really need a police investigation? It's the sort of thing a stupid schoolkid would say ffs.

I mean come on, aren't there more pressing issues the police could be focusing on than a childish piece of paper?
Inciting homophobic hatred is a criminal offence. I'd say that warrants police involvement, particularly given the context of what else happened that night.

It shouldn't need more than one police officer anyway given that the culprit put his copyright on it. :D

I get that, I just think it should be the responsibility of the clubs to take action on things like this. And if they don't take adequate action then they should get sanctions from the FA, so that acts as an incentive.

It just seems like a waste of police time to investigate stupid things being said on flyers (unless it's an incitement to violence). In my opinion I don't think arresting people for saying homophobic things is an effective way to stop homophobia. It's just another law that's going to overpopulate prisons and make homophobic people even angrier when they come out of jail.

Anyway sorry for taking this way off topic :censored:

You might be right but if someone is distributing homophobic material to the masses then the police might feel obliged to look into it.

Though not sure West Ham fans can be described as the masses.

Reckon that MP has the right idea, they should be forced to play behind closed doors. How the fuck did they get a safety certificate without proper policing in place?

Were the council so desperate for the stadium to not be a failure that they were willing to ignore public safety? What else have they been turning a blind eye to in all this?

I love how they have been complaining about the stadium since they moved there and wanting to go back to Upton Park, and then one fight with Chelsea and they start saying that the stadium is starting to feel like home.

The poor little girl who got pelted with 7 coins or whatever probably has enough for a 10 year season ticket at the London Stadium now. Tend to agree that they should now play a couple of games behind closed doors now to get the message over. A poxy fine is not going to force the dildo brothers and Miss Piggy to do anything major. Chelsea should not escape this lightly either
