Im very surprised there hasn't been some kind of movement by the fans of the various clubs within London to have this looked at formally.

Considering many of the taxpayers within London will be fans of rival clubs, you'd imagine that they wouldn't be overly happy with footing the bill for a private venture, irrespective of that venture being a direct rival.

The contract they already have is scandalous and whoever approved it needs investigating as it makes no sense to anyone but West Ham.

The fact this was all predicted by our previous head of architecture just goes to show the negligence and incompetence of those that ratified the deal. It isn't in the best interests of the public or for the Olympic legacy as its being dragged through the mud on a daily basis and the only legacy it's leaving is one of failure

They are now...welcoming the investigation...(fromm bbc) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37845817

That Gonzo dickhead back at it again with a written piece this time http://www.claretandhugh.info/another-bandwagon-is-on-its-way-mr-mayor/?

In a nutshell, "Woe is us, everyone wants to kick us when we're down, it's nothing to do with us"

all wrapped up with his final line,

Amazing how nothing is their fault anymore isn't it? Amazing how Khan is calling for the answers from the owners and into how the bidding process was won yet it's somehow an attack on them. Guilty conscience?

Oh and as an addition, first comment posted as a reply to it,

Yeah mate nothing to do with infrastructure costs is it? I'm sure that £27m is going to cover the near half a billion Spurs are spending on the stadium complex

We were not "given" anything. The government deciding to invest £27m in the tottenham area not our stadium (partly due to the riots). We are paying every penny for building our stadium.

It was football fans that got the details of the deal released to the public led by charlton fans.

Does anyone know the official figures of how much it cost to originally build the Olympic stadium and how much the conversion has cost? I keep seeing different figures all over the place.

Think the figure of £340m has been mentioned today. About the same amount of money Brexit promised would go into the NHS. Spending taxpayers money to prop up a football team is utterly disgraceful considering what that money could do for the NHS.

Why didn't any journalists pick up on this 2/3 years ago when fans were telling them this would happen, is what I want to know.

There was a media agenda at the time not to say anything about it. Only 1 or 2 journalists did while nobody else said a word. They should be following the money on this trying to prove people have made themselves richer on the back of this and subsequent developments since the LLDC awarded the stadium to West Ham or even before the bidding begun.

Spurs fans were called bitter by other fans and the media because we didn't win the bid when realistically all we wanted was a fair and open process. It was obvious to anyone with a brain that the current situation was going to happen.

My wife still thinks I'm bitter about it when I talk about the disgrace that is this shambles I've tried to explain till I'm blue in the face that this isn't due to me being a Spurs fan but a tax payer but she won't have it

Of course some of the comments above assume that the stadium will not be used for any other events throughout the calendar. There's a Rugby League International there soon, plus other events such as concerts*. The way it's going though there will be an event every other week when WH are not playing at home.

*Justin Bieber fans rioting because they have been told to sit down/stand up maybe? Or even a whole new meaning to Take That?

Then, you had a Tory Government, a Tory London Mayor, Lord Tory Coe, Tory Donor Porn Twins and soon to be Lady Tory Brady all pissing in the same pot... taking the piss out of the rest of us!!

The least the Spammers should have paid was the net proceeds of selling Upton Park.

I doubt their political allegiance had anything to do with it. LLDC and Newham Council weren't Conservative led and they're hardly known for their straight down the line approach to things. All those people and politicians are greedy and in it for themselves.

I thought Upton Park was mainly owned by a bank and not that rabble?

A few quid in the right direction helps? The 40m they got from Labour Newham mayor was tainted too.

Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales declaring dozens of gifts from West Ham, with critics saying his impartiality has been compromised.

They needed that to pay the loans they had outstanding. I think they had it mortgaged to about £50M.

Let's not pretend that things would of been any different under labour though. Just look at the gash the filled the millennium dome with. Or pretend that if you handed the NHS £320M it wouldn't be wasted with almost as much Abandon as lining West Ham's pockets.

I think it was probably a case of playing the long game and waiting for the bigger story to develop when the shit hit the fan.

New Mayor Liverpool supporting Sadiq Khan is starting an investigation into the whole funding issues.
That donation to the Tory party by WHU (the club) not individuals should also be factored in.
Why on earth is a club donating to a political party? Oh I get it....
Taking the tax breaks out of the equation it still shouldn't have been allowed, if the dildo ménage et tois want to be making donations then surely it should be done on a personal basis as I'm sure a few of their supporters would say they aren't acting in their interest.

Absolutely, you have hit the nail on the head, I would urge all tax payers to contact MP, as a Tax payer I don't minding funding the NHS, I do mind greatly funding alterations for a football club. Total disgrace and my MP is going to hear with both barrels how I feel about it and how my Tax is being spent.

There's a tendency on this site to exaggerate the problems at the OS for comic purposes. So I thought I'd balance it up a bit. Here's a poster on KUMB who's absolutely happy with everything where he is.

"I'm in block 114 and it has been absolutely magic down there. The view is decent by the corner flag, we all stand and sing non-stop from the first minute until the last. The banter with the away fans has been great and I haven't heard or seen anything that has over stepped the mark where we are."

See? It's not all bad at the OS. There is at least one block with a decent view and banging atmosphere and, whatever else is wrong at the OS, you can't take that away from them...

Oh, hang on, what's this in a letter from the Head of Ticketing at West Ham to fans in Block 114?

"The line of segregation between home and away supporters is being extended and we must advise you that as a result we are relocating your Season Ticket seat to a comparable area of the Stadium for the remainder of the 2016/17 season, as your existing seat will now form part of the line of segregation or a sterile area in between both sets of supporters..."

But, if they do that, then it'll wreck what little atmosphere has been built up at the OS, completely piss off the most passionate of their fans and kick off the whole 'people who want to stand being put in stands where people want to sit' issue again.

Or as one poster put it...

"In quiet moments, if I'm totally honest, I do find myself thinking.......

........"maybe this is actually only the second best stadium migration ever"
