How many in the current team would be in your greatest ever team in your Spurs-supporting lifetime?

I think I was 8 when I started to take notice around 99 so

Lloris
Walker Alder King Rose
Bale VDV Modric Ginola
Kane Berbatov

I'd maybe swap Sandro for Berbatov because I was a huge fan of Sandro before that dam injury and it would balance my team better.

Toby and Rose for me. I would have Jennings over Lloris.
I think I'd have jennings in my greatest ever team as well if i were to go way back before my time. Then that team wouldve maybe had Knowles instead of Rose and probably England ahead of Toby.

Lloris
Walker, Toby, King, Rose

Holly shit this would be the best defence in the world. It's still pretty decent today but King takes it to the another level.

Since 1994 (born in '89)

Lloris, no question. Toby and Rose definitely too, Vertonghen and Walker are close. Kane is in with a shout if he can keep scoring for a few more years, but definitely has stiffest competition!

Lloris
Carr-Toby-King-Rose
Anderton-Modric-VDV-Bale
Sheringham-Klinsmann

No DM but fuck it. Parker's the closest we got to a good DM and he was only at that incredible level for one season. Dier still has a lot to prove and Sandro I really think could've been in this team had his injuries not got the better of him.

I would stick with Toby over England.( I would have preferred Richard Gough to Big Mike before Toby.) I would have agreed with Knowles over Rose before last Season. But I have a real soft spot for Danny Two Chests. Sadly I am old enough to have seen them all play.

I nearly went for Sol, judging him purely on footballing ability when he was at Spurs he was incredible and easily the best defender in the country at the time. But the deciding factor for me in leaving him out was that you need to trust your defensive partner and I wouldn't trust that snake with anything
I wouldn't trust that snake with a snake.

And said snake was heard to have said, "my green exterior and lack of legs really went against me. Had I been white, I'd have captained Spurs for years

"...and excluded that c*nt, Campbell."

Going back to 94/95:

Lloris
Rose - Lack of competition on that one.
Alderweireld has also probably done enough already to bag a spot.

Been supporting since 1995.

___________Lloris___________

Carr__King__Alderweireld__Rose

Bale___Modric____VdV___Ginola

______Kane______Berbatov____

Four in total, though it was tough leaving out Walker, I know he has a head sleep now and again but the man is World class on his day.

Lloris, Toby and Rose for me. I'm afraid I'd take Stephen Carr instead of Walker.

Rose-tinted specs, maybe, but pre-injury, turn of the millennium, he was a more complete right-back and I can't remember a better one.

It's not rose tinted specs, it's absolutely correct and my first thought as soon as I saw someone including Walker. Wasn't going to put Rose in either, but I'm struggling to think of another left back since I've been watching Spurs (was a fan from 81-82, although I was six so didn't really pay attention until 87' onwards). Maybe Ziege actually. A better footballer than Rose, but Rose is possibly a better left back overall, if that makes any sense. It's hard to judge as certain players (particularly defenders) can look better or worse depending on the rest of the back 5 at the time.

Lloris gets in for sure and although objectively I think Campbell in his prime just edges Toby, Toby is a class act and Campbell is a mad **** so I'll go for Toby. In a few years time maybe I'll look back and put Kane in, but I have to go with Klinsmann (the most complete striker at Spurs I've ever seen) and Berbatov, who is just too much of a Rolls-Royce of a player to leave out.

Just Lloris and Toby in the first 11 then. Sorry Harry and Danny.

Lloris
Carr Toby King Ziege
Roberts
Waddle Gazza Hoddle Bale
Klinsmann

Subs : Robinson, Rose, Modric, Ginola, VDV, Berbatov, Lineker.

I think it's fair to say that we'd have enough on the bench to change the game :D.

I wasn't really old enough to see Roberts play or appreciate Hoddle, but I still remember them and have seen both of them play live. We'd need someone to scare the shit out of the opposition so Roberts is in, and Hoddle is one of (if not the best )players to ever play for us.... which means there's no place for Modric . No place for Harry either. Or Teddy, or Ossie either. Damn. Shows how many class players we've had over the last 30 years and a crime really that we've won as little as we have.

Id like to give you a like but you put that name in your writeup, and positively as well, so i restrained from liking your post. But your lineup is good. Roberts was a crazy mavafaka

I just can't comprehend how some have omitted Hoddle from their team.

He's definitely and without any shadow of a doubt, the best midfielder ever to play for us.
