Saying that though you'd think they would want to keep u20s group or main group together as its the world Cup year. And this group have a genuine chance of winning it
If that was the case, then they should have called up someone like Grant Ward to replace Hughes (another who has surely learnt all he can at this level) instead of Onomah.

I also think, as long as they always have a good number of players the same, it would do them good to rotate some of the other players and give them a go at the level above for a few games, it can help the better players from getting complacent and gives fringe players a chance to get game time.

Also, I have no faith that England won't play a completely different system or line up in the tournament than the year leading up to it, it seems to be the England way.

GOAL: Ademola Lookman draws England u20 level after he finishes a well-worked goal.

Thrice Champions ‏@HTAFCPodcast 2h2 hours ago
Ademola Lookman England u20s best player so far. The #cafc man has impeccable work rate

Ashley ‏@ashleybarron94 55m55 minutes ago
@Alookman_ is some talent man! The guy can run for days.. baller #EnglandU20s

Sam Noble‏@KnownAsNobbo 29m
what a baller @Alookman_ is, unreal workrate and he's been instrumental in midfield. shocked if he's still a charlton player come January

i've only seen him a couple of times but I did really like the look of him and any player that works hard off the ball will surely be on poch's radar.

I love me some up and coming lower league lads, and since we couldnt get Burke, Lookman is the man I'm drooling over now. And while Burke is an exceptional talent that only a had full of players have his raw freakish combination of power and pace, he still wouldn't complete our attack. I think Lookman would be the player/final piece that would complete our balance squad. While we finally have some pace in our attack with Son and GKN, they r both more effective on the flanks and we still miss pace through the middle, and Lookman would solve the problem as well as being able to get on the ball, shield it from centerhalves and pass it along to the open option.

Apparently we are also looking to sign the sessegnon brothers from Fulham so i do believe that Poch wants young players with pace who he can train and improve into even better players.

and they are all very versatile as well would be able to play multiple positions, and Ryan Sessegnon is one of those freak athlete players in the same mold of Bale and Burke so i'd be very happy with them as well!!
It's stunning how well we use this strategy of recruitment, especially compared to Arsenal, Liverpool and United who have all tried to honestly buy first team players this way in the past.

Also great to see Abraham doing so well. Been an admirer of his, often the big guy can get underrated and labelled as a lumberer but he has great technique and ability. 8 in 10 so far this season.

Yeah he's done really well. Cheeky bid?

He's not going to get anywhere at Chelsea after all.

It looks like he's playing off the left atm. But certainly looks quick and troubling. Such a strong squad.

Always said I'd be happy to go after Abraham as a 2nd learning striker. Pity is Chelsea wouldn't sell and can't imagine wages he'd be on

Full match of England u17s v Romania. If anyone doubts the quality of this age group, have a watch of them below. All of these players should be making the PL in the future. This team/squad is better than the 97s. At the same age the 97s had a great team/squad and late developers improved them futher.

@Bus-Conductor don't know if you;ve seen this age group yet, you'd enjoy. Worth looking out for Foden. And seeing how comfortable they all are on the ball

I could make another full 11 from players not even included in this squad, right now so will be great to see them all develop

---------------------Cull-------------------
Hinds------Guehi---Medley-----Wilson
------------------Skipp--------------------
-------------Kirby---O'Riley-------------
Poveda-------Griffiths---------Richards

Again, that excluded both Sessegnons, (Ryan because he has been selected for England just not this age group) and a couple of others like Laviner and the one @edson likes Dotila, and some other Spurs players. That team on its own could possible beat the one being played. And would clean up nations I've seen them face so far

Just seen Foden warming up for City didn't clock he was on the bench. Would be crazy if he came on

Great to see both Roberts and Dembele playing against City in CL. Both playing against us in the FAYC 2/3 years ago. If they can ours can. Had plenty of top players playing against them in that game

Foden looks pretty good in that vid above, never heard of him before today. Sancho also looks nice on the ball, another City player signed from Watford at 14. I thought teams weren't allowed to buy youngsters that age if they're not in the catchment area.

Foden is very talented, excellent dribbler and general player. Knows what he is doing. Sancho will get more recognition due to his fee and also as he is more of a flair player, but again excellent player. However Sancho is more arrogant and it doesn't surprise me that Foden gt onto the bench despite being smaller as he is a harder worker and better team. The rule is something like at u11s the player can't be further than 30min drive from training ground, hour at u13s and then increase. Though it is circumnavigated. I know Brewster is from London but now at Liverpool who have picked a lot of players up from other cities. I can think of quite a few where that rule doesn't apply so don't think its very well monitored

Stephen Humphrys finally made a first team bench at the weekend and came on in the 87min.

You've just reminded me. Was going to post this yesterday and tag you as if you scroll enough you will find your boy Humphries.

For everyone else here are 30second clips of promising players who are 18 or younger. The selection criteria is no doubt influenced heavily by available footage, but quite useful nonetheless if you want to get a quick glance of a player you may have heard about. There are a lot of talented players in there

Very stylish too. I do like Dozzell.

On another note I see Humphries and impressiely Sessgnon played against our first team yesterday. They must really like your man. No surprise Sessegnon up there, not only is he good enough but I'm sure they've made assurances to encourage him to stay. I expect to see him playing first team this season. Also De La Torre scored who I've always thought looked good
I am shocked no big club is not sniffing around Dozzell this window.

My brother is a Ipswich fan and has given up on this season and wants Mick McCarthy out.

They do not look like doing anything this year so now would be a good time for someone to make a bid and leave him there for the rest of the season.

Apparently he hasn't been getting many starts recently, but came on as a sub in a recent game and ran the show. Think they are now seeing that as his role to come on when everyone else has tired legs.

I was going to post earlier, I watched the City v United u23 match. Sancho started and looked really good playing up. Did not seem that selfish maybe as he knew there was a hierarchy so to speak. His link up play was really good and he played one excellent looping ball over the top showing vision. Near the end of the match he was showing some real skill. Could be such a good player

My brother goes when he can he says it is more to do with McCarthy not using Dozzell when he should and sticking to type and setting up too defensively.

Meant to write. Pleased to see Davies doing well for Everton, looks a COMPLETELY different player to the one I've seen for England. I'll be completely honest, I had probably seen him play 10+ games for England between u16s - u18s. And for someone that was so highly rated and captain to boot I had never seen such an average player, for a regular. I couldn't even say he was decent. This was also Englands worse age group, it may go onto show it wasn't on ability but they always looked so disjointed.

When he got games at the end of last season I was shocked, I never watched but heard it was more of his standard passing around. But he played really well against City and if he did anything remotely close to that for England I would see promise. It's like he is a completely different player.

Along with Alexander-Arnold, Field and Oxford it seems at the same stage the 98s which is the worse group I had seen have more starters than the 97s in the PL at teh same age, which is the best group I had seen, bar 00s. Football works in mysterious ways.

Anyways great stuff Davies, and the other young English players that played well.

On another note hear Solanke is still refusing to sing. Fair play to him, they will no doubt be offering him lots of money. Think he can walk at the end of the season, and hope he gets a good club. Sadly the 3m compensation figure may put some people off, so he may have to move abroad. I assume he is willing to drastically reduce his wages in an effort to get games, noone is going to pay him anywhere near what Chelsea were

Definitely be interesting to see how Davies develops.

That performance against City was so reminiscent of Grealish when he first appeared for Villa, but fingers crossed Davies handles the pressure very differently.

Came across well in the post-match interview.

I'd be all over solanke for 3 million I like him more than Abraham. But if he has to go abroad it wouldn't be a bad thing it'd probably be better for his development. more young English lads should play on the continent.
