:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

And Bale outgrew Spurs and Carrick wanted to win things and Sol wanted Ashley Cole to ring his 'special' mobile. I can see why they would see us as the enemy.

If you want to be extra pedantic about it then ok we've had a lot of their ex-managers go on to manage us and ex-players go on to play for us (is that better or would you like me to add a disclaimer that loanees count as players )

I think its because they have no excuses, United, City and Chelsea have got money to burn and most team's fans grew up when Liverpool and Arsenal were top teams but we don't fit in either of those categories.
What all that means is that we are succeeding where they are failing.

Nobody mentions either that our finances are half of some of those teams yet we constantly match them.

From Arsemania during our game last night:

1-0
Spurs down already

GTFI - what a delivery

Anyone have a link...would love to watch the Saints whip these tossers while at work

Southamptopn playing some lovely stuff - cutting Spurs apart here

Yes, Southampton are playing lovely stuff against a good pressing side. I'm so envious.

Does any one watch Redmond much? Only seen him twice this season but he's been pretty impressive.

1-1
Jammy as ****. That's absolute BS.

Southampton will lose this, they saw the yellow away kit and thought it was us, started off accordingly, then actually looked at the badge and then decided to lay down.

Alli destroyed Van Dijk on the goal, brilliant header.

Would love to punch Alli. Hate his face and his attitude. (says the fella with a Tony Adams avatar)

He's a player though. You could almost say a 10 goal a season player already at 20. That's impressive.

Has that lampard knack of knowing where the goal is.

Bossing Southampton here, without really creating much. Can't stand Eriksen, very punchable face. (n)

Impressive domination of S'oton tbf. Composed and professional. (y)

Wanyama is better than Coquelin for me.

Would rather Victor Meldrew than Victor Wanyama. Brainless yobo.

Spurs are controlling the game without creating much at all. Other than that deflected cross which led to their goal, there was one moment when Wanyama caused some panic in the box but that's it. At 1-0 So'ton were tearing Spurs to shreds.

Spurs are a really solid, well-balanced, well-coached team but there's just not enough quality there to do anything significant(i.e win trophies, perform in Europe). Think they're short another quality attacker, and depth is very fragile too.

1-2
Kane 2-1
If you put Alexis and Özil into that Spurs team then I'd say they could really win stuff. Unfortunately you couldn't say the same about us.

Spurs get their 50th penalty of the season. :D

Red Card, lol.

Mike Dean is 100% a Spurs fans.

How is Mike Dean still a ref. Corrupt.

There isn't many players I would take from them to be honest - that is that would improve us. Id take Dembele, Rose, Alli & Kane. Other then that we are better then them in every position :) Potentially Lloris over Cech (just half the team then :ROFLMAO:)

That is almost half of their starting line up...

Think of there fans wanting 7 out of 11 of our players - we are better :p we only want 4 from them (I can think of 2, but 7 wtf)

Spurs would be fighting relegation without all the favourable refereeing decisions they've received this season. :poop:

Spurs and arsenal are each one half of a title winning team. Spurs have the coaching structure and organization, physicality and work rate. Arsenal have the talent and guile.

To get to March. Potch still has to overcome his burnout issue.

Never a red. Considering Alli got his shot away, and Redmond made bare minimum contact it should have A) never been a penalty, and B) never even a card. Ridiculous. I hate Dean. lmfao @ Kane though.

The paranoia on here about the media, refs, managers ,certain players and teams being all out to get arsenal needs to stop. Every fan from every club thinks the same way about their club. And its so obviously bias and nonsensical.

I agree, but I really think there's enough evidence to suggest Mike Dean has either a heavy anti-Arsenal bias, or just happens to support alot of teams we play. (must be 12 years old)

Looked like a foul on Alli to me tbh. Not overly bothered about Spurs - we'll finish ahead of them regardless. Don't consider that a success mind you but that's what Wenger has reduced us to.

1-3

We used to do that

1-4

Bloody hell.

Rose is the best LB in the league by a mile.

I do like how Spurs have two offensive full-backs, a huge bonus in modern football, I do get why we opt for one defensive full back and the other more offensive but I would like a real threat from out left-back which Monreal doesn't really offer.

Would love to see an arsenal performance in st Mary's like that. How do we always struggle so much against these mugs?

.@FA Tonight was Mike Dean’s 3rd Spurs game of the season, He’s issued a red card to the opposition in all 3 games & penalties in 2 of the games.

Discuss

Of those three red cards and two penalties, only Reid's red card was in any way debatable. I wonder if they'll be willing to discuss the ludicrous penalty he gave against us in that same match though...

Why was it ludicrous?

I can understand people hating Alli, Vertonghen, Dier, maybe even Dembele, Rose, Walker and Lamela, but why Eriksen? What did he ever do to anyone?

Why was it ludicrous?

Because Reid threw himself to the floor after feeling the slightest touch on his shoulder. If Dean had been consistent with that judgement he'd have given about ten penalties, not least when Kane was rugby tackled in the West Ham penalty area.

Hardly the 'slightest touch' mate...and came as absolutely no surprise as Dean had already given about 5 of these already this season.
It's ludicrous that Vinny thought he'd get away with it IMO.

Watch it again. He puts his hand on his shoulder and doesn't even pull him. Then compare that to the rugby tackle on Kane which was waved away.

We need a performance as against Man Utd., the problem will still be that Spurs are much better than Utd were earlier in the season.
With the Spurs full backs Rose and Walker powering down the flanks and their midfield including Dembele and Dier out fighting us,plus the pace and strength of Alli and Kane a draw will be considered a very good result by most .

Hopefully they'll decide to rest a few.

Well they do have Chelsea afterwards.

Mind you I remember they rested a few at WHL last season but still hammered us 1-0 (But for Gomes it would have been 4/5)

Either that or we'll have some sort of "glorious defeat"

EDIT: Kyle Walker banned - actually he is probably one of their "weaker" players.

o_O Walker has been one of the best defenders in the league this season!

After watching last night I fully expect a spuds win along these lines...
3-0
3-1
4-0
4-1.

Take your pick

I think that's true for why we're 'hated' by most clubs fans ("look at them trying to break into the top four" type comments) but of all teams in the league, Southampton fans have more reason to hate us than any other.

We've taken some of their most high profile managers and players over recent history (Liverpool have prob taken more over the last five years but they also paid over the odds for them so there's less hatred). Each time they look like making progress we've stepped in to nab their biggest and brightest.

Managers
  • Hoddle
  • Redknapp
  • Pochetino

Players
  • Dean Richards (at the time he was awesome for them)
  • Gareth Bale
  • Toby Alderweireld
  • Victor Wanyama

They probably look at us and see 'what could have been' much in the same way we looked at Carrick, Sheringham & Berbatov at Utd or Bale & Modric running the show at Madrid.

I rated this winner but then I read the counter arguements. But you are still a winner in my eyes

No. I live near Watford and know 3 season ticket holders. They know their place and don't have any beef with us.

They traditionally hate Luton town.

Agree with this. I lived in Watford for a year not long ago and the proper Watford fans I knew didn't give a damn about us and were decent to talk to about football.

Think the ones with beef are the fair-weather lot who also 'support' a bigger club (knew a couple who claimed to support both Watford and Liverpool or Watford and Arsenal).

I imagine there are a lot of Spurs fans in Watford too and that many Watford season ticket holders might be Spurs supporters...?

Ye I know about Luton but it's like West Ham and millwall. Not same league. Watford closest London club are us I guess...?

Honestly I can see why some of you hate West Ham more than Arsenal, some of their comments on us are outstanding considering they were on the verge of a meltdown a few games ago. I'd love to see them get relegated again, so glad they've got that joke of a stadium and the Dildo Brothers as owners.
