Unfortunately I have to agree with @SpursDave88 I have seen Pogba play about 30 times and never seen anything to warrant this reputation he has! Never seen him boss a game! Never seen him boss a midfield! He will ping a 40 yarder in top bins once every 20 games and people rave! He is a £20m player! Poor business by Utd when you think of Wanyama bossing it he cost £11m Pogbas been bang average for £90m! If Utd stopped chasing "big names" and were smart with there money they'd be dangerous

Why Unfortunately?

Put it this way, imagine the Sky Sports fapping off if Utd had scored our fourth goal Vs WBA, with Pogba lifting it over like that for Zlatan...

Exactly. How many people who say to watch his time at juventus and then tell me he's shit, have actually watched him at juventus? He was massively inconsistent, and even at his best, I can't recall him bossing a game. But Pirlo/Zidane said he was the best, I don't give a fuck, prove it over a season, or even half a season. He's nearly 24 now, so his young player with amazing potential excuse is starting to wear thin. Let's see what this prima Donna can do. ATM delle is by far the more productive player.

How many games did you see him play for Juve and I mean actually watch him and not YouTube vids of him banging in goals? He's bossed plenty of games in Serie A and in the CL. He is a superb player, for a modern day midfielder he has it all athleticism, pace, strength, shooting, skills, technique so I really don't understand what people are actually seeing when they watch him play.

Seems to be there is a common misconception with a player like Pogba, people expect him to be dominating and tearing up the league just because he cost so much money but reality is like any other player he needs time to settle like all players. What has happened is that he's been praised to high heaven and people's expectancy levels have shot up and when he doesn't produce people go way to far in their criticism to knock him down, it happens all the time, it' ridiculous.

Also comparing him to Delle Alli (I know you didn't do this) is stupid and frankly needs to stop because we're getting polarising opinions here and in turn it's doing Pogba a total disservice and those Utd fans on Redcafe are playing down Alli's ability just to form some sort of counter argument. Firstly even though they have similar abilities they play in different roles on the pitch so how is the comparison fair, secondly Alli is only in his 2nd season at the top level whilst Pogba is in his 5th, Alli hasn't played in the CL on a consistent basis yet and he's still only young and Pogba has only in his 5th month in the league, again how is that fair?

Can't disagree about Man Utd, they have brought a player and a brand which is why he cost so much money and they need to shoe horn him into the side at all costs, but if you're assessing him as a player ignore the price tag and the circus that comes with it and evaluate what he does on the pitch, not what happens off it.

Alan Green on 5 Live always used to slate Ibrahimovic, saying he was massively overrated, average player etc, just because on the handful of occasions he'd commentated on Champions League matches he was playing against English opposition he hadn't torn it up. He's still scoring for fun at 35.

I love Citeh fans pessimistic views :) That being said, we cannot afford to lose this game. Another win at Citeh will do our title aspirations the world of good.

I've got to take the middle ground here. I've seen plenty of Pogba, and whilst he is a great player, I find it truly shocking (as do the two Juve fans I know) that anyone has spent anywhere near that amount of money for him (and would still have been surprised at 1/2 that cost) - there are quite a few midfielders that I would have ahead of him that would cost significantly less. However, I also find it a bit odd that people tend to bash his performances with his price tag - he's a top end player that is playing in a top team and the personal criticism is a bit harsh and should be directed at the club instead.
Comparisons with Alli are a little weird when they are entirely different types of player, but needless to say I'd be happy to have both in our squad!

And look at United's form as he's settled down. Yes, he was awful today but that doesn't change the fact that he's been much improved. Nor that Alli had actually been pretty poor this season until December.

Don't get me wrong, I'm one of Alli's biggest fans but I think there's a tendency to get carried away with our young players sometimes. I remember the wankfest over Aaron Lennon when he scored the winner over Chelsea as a teenager in his second season too.

Ali has scored 10/18 this season at 20 and scored 10/28 last season with 9 assists. Hes the second youngest player in all the major leagues to be in the top 10 goalscorers in their respective leagues. Enes Unal is top at 19 with 10/15 in Holland. Paul Pogba in his best season at Juve scored 8 assisted 12 in 33. Ali could score 15+ this season.

A lot of people don't understand the price tag because they are looking from a pure footballing perspective, the truth is that Utd have brought into a brand who will make them a lot of money, it wouldn't surprise me if they brought out Pogba's image rights so that they can make money off his marketability. Juve are set to miss out of far more money in the long term which is why they set the value so high.

Pogba has played in a midfield 3 with some defensive responsibilities for the majority of his career, and Alli has played as an AMF, they're different players so the comparison is unfair.

Fair do's but made the comparison to show that Ali is doing very well.

The Man City pre match thread:

http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/spurs-h-pre-match-thread.326419/

Starts with "They are gonna dick us. They'll walk right through us." so... yeah.

Well it can only get better after today's shambles. And if they have any modicum of pride they'll raise their game too, they know there's nowhere to hide and they owe us and their manager and those running the club a huge performance.

Some of them really should be fighting for their places, and what better way to show they do actually give a shit than at home to a major rival who are flying.

If we play well we can beat Spurs, strangely I'm more confident about this game than I was about today. We don't do well when teams treat us as their cup final, but Spurs will come and play for the win which I think may actually suit us, if we can only start taking our chances.

To he fair, that's how we viewed playing them and other better sides earlier this season when we were drawing lots of games and struggling to get around the busses.

Same here how many games of his do I have to watch to see this 'genius'. He was awful for France in the Euro's, Sissoko was miles better, he has played maybe 2 goodish games for United so far out of a few dozen, he doesn't dominate a midfield, his passing is bang average mostly but he can be effective on occasion around the box so for me it's like a 2nd rate Lampard thus far.

Maybe he will become a genius and the best player in the world but he needs to massively improve. Let's not forget Lamela killed the Italian league with Roma and we paid a hefty £30 million a few seasons ago.

Alli is 20 in his second season at top level and he just gets better and better, his movement and control are brilliant. Pogba has it all to prove and at the moment Pogba would not get in our first 11, De Bruye would, Sanchez would, Coutinho would, Hazard would but Pogba no.
