Janssen with some game time is showing what he can do. He seems to have developed a good working relationshipt with Son. Both seems to be getting more in tune in with each other.

I remember Kane scoring goals in 3 consecutive game in his first ever PL season. Those 3 goals in final few games gave the much needed confidence. Then he went from strength to strength next season scoring 20+ PL goals. In same way, Son only scored 4 PL goals in injury hit first season. This season has kicked on.

Janssen only has to look at these individuals & learn from them going forward. At times, people forget he is only 22, younger than Kane. I am sure he will come good soon.

Has to start Saturday. With a very much weakened Watford defence and Dele and Christian with him he will never get a better opportunity to pop a couple home. He should be brimming with confidence at the moment after the Swansea game.
Go for it Vinny!

But is he willing to just sit on our bench?

If I were him I'd be very concerned about losing my spot in the Holland team.
Considering the problems with Holland it's not like he'll be missing out on the World Cup.

I think one season is too short for the club to decide to sell, and likewise, too soon for Janssen himself to decide to jack it in and get his agent looking for a move. One more year I reckon for both parties.

I am afraid yesterday showed the lad is totally out of place in this side - no awareness - terrible hold up play- awful touch his first 3 touches all ended up back with the opposition - missed a sitter - he just doesn't read the game should have been on the end of Trippier cross - I feel sorry for him his likeable tries his heart out but he is never going to be a player in a top class side - yesterday in an otherwise excellent performance he was dreadful has to go

He wasn't dreadful, by any stretch of the imagination.

Not really sure what match you watched, he wasn't terrible. He wasn't good I'll grant you but terrible no. You completely fail to mention the save of Gomes in the first 15 when Jansenn rolled his defender and had a shot on the turn, Gomes spread himself well and Jansenn was unlucky it hit the keepers trailing leg.

Jansenn's link up play was good in parts but tbh he's still looking to post up too much and the defenders knew he was looking for lay offs the whole time, so managed to get a foot in or affect his touch (which made it look like a bad touch).

i trust in Pochettino to train Jansenn to be a better player and he was excellent against Swansea, so no I don't think he is done at our club

He seems to be playing within the width of the box, between the CB and FB, which creates space for others. Good hold up play and strength. On another day he could have grabbed three. For a bit part player he's doing OK.

No, he's not really. Scored one goal all season in this Spurs team. That was against Millwall. He simply doesn't score. Play him as your striker for 6 months we would seriously struggle to beat teams. It's the reality

The best thing he did yesterday was allow Son to play his more natural position

I thought it was a decent performance by him. I don't really get why people are slating him for his work yesterday, he wasn't great but he was ok

Was pretty unlucky not to put us ahead early on, beyond that his failure to stay onside and some of his positional work was suspect but his effort levels were decent and he put in a shift

I still doubt he will still be our back up striker next year, but I suppose that depends on whether we can bring someone better in who's equally willing to sit on the sidelines and play second fiddle to Kane

I watched Berahino for Stoke yesterday and he was terrible, offered significantly less than Janssen even

Sadly not good enough. This summer the club should sign a striker who already plays in the PL

Like Soldado it just hasn't worked

Josh king or Andre Gray would do better as back up

Was at the game yday and I think Vinny is actually drawn to the defender so he can play with his back to goal. Seen him do this a lot and seems to be his instinctive reaction vs Harry when he came on can do that but generally faces up to goal and is generally looking for space away from the defender. I didn't see Vinny really move around trying to lose a marker and Harry didn't do a huge amount when he came on but generally looks for pocket of space

Hopefully that is something that can be coached but right now Vinny spends most of the game with his back to goal backing into the CB which is going to bring others into play but limit his overall contribution

I had high hopes for him yesterday after his cameo on Wednesday but from the moment he missed that absolute sitter you could see his confidence once again drain from his face.

Now that Harry is back it wouldn't surprise me if that's the last action he sees this season. Whether it's his last in a Spurs shirt will remain to be seen.

You cannot miss chances like that and expect to be in the team the following week.

He didn't miss a "sitter." I've watched that numerous times from different angles, and it was very easy to fluff that chance due to the way it bounced.

He shouldve been in position to put it away. ie body side on ready to get his knee over the ball. But he was just standing there, on his heels. Even if the ball hadn't deflected off a defender, he still wasn't in any way preparing to put it away. It's a general problem with him in the box, he's always on his heels, hence why so often the ball goes across the face just out of his reach, he's reactive rather than proactive.

I agree, in hindsight it wasn't a sitter, but isn't that what being a striker is about... Anticipating the ball. For example the second chance by Trippier, Janssen was just too slow in anticipating the ball which he should have done given the first chance happened a minute or two earlier. Dele against Swansea is a perfect example of anticipation.

Maybe we should loan him out to another Premier League side next season so he can play regular and hopefully find his feet in the league. If it works out we still have a player on our books and bring him back, if not we move him on. Thinking someone like Bournemouth or Southampton.

Caveat is we would need to bring someone in on or near Kane level, not easy I know
