Such a shame about rose!

Phew, I read this and thought there was news about him being out for the season or something. Good news being reported IMO, I didn't believe the other 'news' we had on him anyway so as long as he's progressing and starting outdoor work soon he'll be available for some tough matches.

When I read the post I thought there was revealation that Rose was not really “injured” but actually had drug abuse issue. I mean there were no photographs of him smiling in crutches on the official website. That is really fishy.

TEAM NEWS: @VictorWanyama (lower back) – Trained with the squad this week and is available for selection.

Don't think Rose will be fit for the bench this weekend lol. At best, I'm guessing he could be available for the NLD.

TEAM NEWS: Danny Rose (knee) – Continues to progress well with his rehab and expected to start outdoor work next week.

If that's the case I think the Chelsea game will be too soon for Rose which is a massive shame.

Either that or he's on his way to Manchester...obviously!

I agree with Rose but I think Dier and Dembele could be just as good against Chelsea. Would love to see Rose get 20 mins on sat. We have missed him so so much to balance our system.

I agree rose is a great player but we have won pretty much every match since he's been injured, so Davies must be doing something right

Well we lost against Liverpool but you'll be forgiven for forgetting that one from your memory ;)

Think we need Rose to keep Moses quiet but then again last time Conte played Willian so I don't know really, all in know is that we're more dangerous when he plays so let's hope for a miraculous recovery lol

I think Davies was a bit shakey for the first couple of games (he was destroyed by Mane, but perhaps we were at fault for not doubling up on him), but has been very good since. He doesn't offer the same pace as Rose and isn't quite as good defensively, so it's against the stronger sides who actually attack us that the difference in ability will really show. Same with Walker and Trippier.

We have much less chance of beating chelsea without rose. Make no mistake they will target him from the off. What we miss most is his aggresion.

And he can occupy their whole right hand side because of his athletism. Davies can't do that.

Athleticism is one thing, the lack of technical skill to occupy the opponent on the offensive front is Davies' main problem. Everyone knows he's gonna pass, way too predictable; if Rose's an 8 than Davies might be a 4/5 in terms of the defensive pressure they create for the opposite side, and that's huge.

I really fear for us in the FAC semi-final without Rose. Both Davies and Dembele are slow on the left.

Rose's athleticism occupies their whole right hand side, it's why he's so important in these big games. It's not Davies's fault but he can't do that.

We will have a back 3 with Verts left centre/full back
That's still a worry with Davies in the line up. Verts still has to cover for Davies' lack of pace down the wing and there's suddenly more space in the central areas. That's where Chelsea will get their joy against us.

I don't know what we do on the left without Rose; I think N'Koudou could work for us on the left, both defensively and in attack in this one off game, but that's Poch's call. There ain't much between these teams, but take Rose out, and they have an advantage; and Conte will be looking to exploit the left side for sure if Rose doesn't play.
