I'm willing to bet anyone on her a tenner for SC that he never plays for us again.

It has been plucked out of the air by some people in this forum because he has been injured for such a long time. I mean, it couldnt JUST be an injury could it? It has to be something more sinister right? Ehh... yes.. yes it could just be an injury.

I've already explained that he definitely had surgery on his hip six weeks ago to cover up the fact that he's leaving. There is absolutely no other logical explanation for it.

Now we're told Rose is having "exploratory surgery" on his knee. I bet he's already signed a 10 year contract with Man City.

Maybe him being unavailable for selection has been a blessing in disguise, because Son has taken his opprtunity with flying colours and his goal return this season has been impressive and I doubt whether Lamela would have matched Son's contribution.

Well, he hasn't been very successfull after he came to play for us. Was it in 2013? And it took 1-2 years before he (got confidence?) started to perform more as expected.

Since then I'm not sure if he's been good or not. He's doing great things on the pitch, but isn't he losing the ball way too often? Ineffective in a way? I've got that impression. But entertaining and nice style of play in a way too..?(n)

I think we'd get rid if we could, but who would buy a crock with a chronic, undiagnosed injury?

Poch pretty much said as much himself

'But I think it made me laugh, every time I hear all that in the media, because it is impossible for him - impossible for the club, impossible for his agent, impossible for his people - to think about moving. Where?'

Surely the hip operation suggests they have reached a diagnosis?

We paid £30m for Sissoko from a Championship side. Anything is possible.

He seems to be the antithesis of 'absence makes the heart grow stronger'.

Last season a key player.

Starts this season very strong, if disjointed.

Now it seems few are still team Lamela :(

He'll be back, bigger and stronger, I dearly hope.

Lamela almost certainly would not have scored as many, but quite possibly would have created more chances for others and/or done a better job of the pressing and defensive side of the game. Definitely nice to have both as an option.

I really think having Lamela back next season will be like a new signing though. When everyone is fit, we have some great options for the midfield positions, despite popular belief after the FA Cup SF loss. Winks, Son and Lamela can all change games. Just need to upgrade Sissoko or get him playing at his very best.

Erik has had a new operation:

EDIT: I read that as meaning there was a little bit of tidying up to be done, which was successful, and he's on the road to recovery. Hope so, having been out for most of this season he'll be like a new signing.
